all this 4play hasn't led to a happy ending since 97. perhaps it is appropriate that Brett play in purple, because his fans gotta be way past blue.

Favre needs to retire, he had a HOF career, nothing else to prove. At his age he's not going to help a team advance, just ask the jets.

Hell, if I was a NFL General Manager, and my quarterbacks were Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels, I would be rolling the red carpet all the way to Kiln to try to get Brett Favre to be my quarterback. So, as far as Favre being 'washed-up', 80% of his ability is better than 80% of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

I'm tired of the yearly offseason saga, but I still love watching Favre play. he's one of the greatest of all time and would make the Vikes better, period. Many resent Favre for his continued waffling and manipulation of the system.....but why? Guy is having a problem walking away from something he loves....I can't hate him for that.

didn't say you did (I just stated my opinion on it), but you made mention that he shouldn't do it....if it's not the worse thing in the world why do so many people (not saying you are one of them) act like he's murdered someone b/c he has a problem walking away? I just don't think it makes him the villen many try to make him into for this.

In a perfect world he wouldn't retire, but it's not a perfect world. As I stated, I'm a little tired of the sage every year, but that doesn't take away one bit from my respect for Favre and the fact i'd love to see him play another year....I'd always love to see him play another year....he's just a fun guy to watch.

I really hope this is just media spin to gain momentum for a story.

Brett is this guy who loves the game and wants to keep playing, not some spiteful old man hell bent on revenge.
