Favre rumor

If Brett Favre plays QB for the Vikings, they will shatter the single-season record for dropped passes. They could barely hold onto noodle-armed Gus Frerottes throws. Favre will put them all in the infirmary.

Maybe they could move Tarvaris Jackson to WR.

I'd love to see Favre take one more shot at a championship. I agree with Duk the teams receivers had better learn to catch passes from a man real quick, but I think him at the helm could turn Minnesota deadly.

Taylor and Peterson certainly could catch his passes. I believe Harvin could catch them as well.

Shiancoe, Williamson, and whatever other garbage they have at WR....not so much.

Rice! Williamson! Pay attention! This is what your hands should look like when I throw the ball to you.

  • The Star Tribune reports Vikings QB Sage Rosenfels was unsuccessful in prying No. 18 away from WR Sidney Rice. Rosenfels, who had been negotiating with Rice since he was acquired from Houston in late February, told the Vikings website that he has decided to wear No. 2. Rosenfels had worn 18 for several seasons, including the past three with the Texans. "I have two children and my favorite band is U2," Rosenfels told the Vikings site in explaining his decision.

Given all the speculation, he should have taken/asked for #4. Two things might have come from it.
1. They say no and then we all know.
2. He gets paid by Brett, a moderate sum for being smart enough to grab that number.

No, I've hated Favre ever since this retirement melodrama started four years ago. That it's starting all over again is not surprising to me, it's just disgusting.

Agreed. This guys ego is bigger than his arm ever was.

My distaste for Brett Favre turned to hate when I read an article in ESPN The Magazine about 2 years ago. It was a piece on Greg Jennings and his rise to stardom in Green Bay.

The article was a story/interview. There were some quotes from Greg that blew my mind. He talked in length about how excited he was to be in Green Bay after getting drafted and how awesome he felt to have such a talented QB throwing him the ball.

Then he met Brett, errr, didn't meet Brett.

The 1st time he came into contact with this idol QB, Favre completely ignored him. Greg says hello to him , and Brett just kept on walking.

Greg then goes into detail about how hard it was to earn his way into the good graces of Brett Favre.

All through the off-season, Greg tried and tried to get close to Favre. This was impossible though, as Brett was secluding himself from the team.

All Greg wanted to do was to get to know this legend QB and build some repoire, and the jackass won't even acknowledge him.]

It wasn't until Greg was catching TDs from Brett and making him look good that Favre finally opened up his arms and accepted this young kid.

I could tell from reading this article that earning the respect of Favre was one of the most special accomplishments of his career.

The more I thought about it though, the more I loathed this asshole. Why should this kid have to bend over backwards to get this prick to talk to him? You're teammates!! You have a common goal and bond. You should be brothers no matter of age or experience.

But NOOOOO. Brett is a golden god in Green Bay. He does things his way. People wait for Brett, not the other way around. As far as he was concerned, this kid was just a rookie. Some punk who Brett didn't need to get to know, because his career was almost over. Why should he be kind to some punk kid?

Cause this kid is going to keep making you look good you jerk. Then as soon as you figure that out, you'll let him into your private little world, because you now figure out that you need him.

If Greg didn't have the talent level that he does, and didn't become a playmaker for Favre, what kind of stories would he tell about him?

How many young guys came through that organization that Favre shit on over the years? How many star struck youngsters met "the real" Brett Favre?

Reading the article it sounds to me like a veteran QB making someone earn their keep....crossed with a bit of man love from Jennings.

What do you mean? Your first post sounds like you want to string up Favre by his hall of fame nuts. This one sounds like its okay.

Love him or hate him brother?

Hate him.

What I meant is that I think Jenning's man love and the fact that he still had to play with Favre caused that him to present things a certain way.

I think if it's completely off the record with Jennings, or a lot of people who played for GB, they would tell you that he's an egotistical prick who treats people like their trash.
