Re: Week 3 MNF Packers @ Seahawks.

Man am I getting sick of this crap from the media against Seattle. I am a GB fan but agree with the ruling. If you are gonna question this rule the first thing you have to decide is when does a player have posession/catch. Not when the first person gets his hands on the ball, but after "Football Move", That is when it becomes a catch. No I don't agree with that but that is the crap that that idiot Pioria got instituted so you have to live with it EVERY TIME. Means it is simultaneous unless 1 player can confirm posession/do a "Football Move" before another player can get his hands on the ball

From my angle, tate straight up shoved shields in the back, jumped up, barely had his hands on the ball, while jennings caught the pass, and made a football move to his back. So, offensive pass interference for sure not called, and then somehow an interception becomes a td. saul good by me, couldnta happened to a better team

How do you not get this call right after the review are you freaking kidding me? There is absolutely no excuse for that. There is no way they can let these officials do another game!

Absolutely..................

It's a huge black eye for the league, but deep down, they don't really seem to care. The fact that the playoff positions have been compromised doesn't seem to faze them in the least. To come out and support the decision of the review official to not overturn the play clearly shows that.

The way Seattle reacted as a team makes them look like a joke. Take the win and keep your mouth shut. Don't go on ESPN and act like you deserved to win the game and make it out as a great play by Tate. He never had possession and everyone can clearly see that.

Oh, and I love the people who are OK with it because it helped their fantasy team or because they hate Green Bay. I am not a fan of either team nor do I hate either team, but this just made me feel dirty as a fan of the NFL. Players and teams work too hard to have a game taken away by a call like this. They have the system in place to make the right call, but didn't have the balls to correct it.

A sad and pathetic day for the NFL and its fans.............................

No right thinking person can be OK with this ruling. Jennings caught the ball. Had it against his chest. Tate never had the ball. Interception plain and simple. Play apparently can be reviewed. Play upheld because there was no way in hell they were going to overturn that call in Seattle. The one ref calls it correctly, but doesn't have the stones to overrule the idiot who comes in and signals TD, which he probably did only because it is the first signal that came into his head. Plus, I guess the fact that he missed the most blatent push off that I have ever witnessed is just a small sidebar in this fiasco. The refs seemed to see phantom items all evening but miss the obvious at the biggest moments. This is Three Stooges material.

A sad, sad day for the NFL........................

How the hell can you make that judgment. You are not even quaified to determine when in the whole process it becomes a legal catch. Then the play ends when they hit the ground, not after they wressle around on the ground for 2 minutes. That is what determine possesion. Also what about the phony P/I calls that allowed GB to get that TD. Gonna throw the whole game out. Yes, the officiating was horendous but either throw out the whole game out or shut up. This totally 1 sided media crap is pure anti Seattle BULL****. And I am a GB fan by the way

Spare me the GB fan BS. Only a Seattle fan would take this type of stand when the entire world can see that this was a horrible call. Not one commentator has defended the call. Are they all Seahawk haters? You have a patch over one eye and myopia in the other or are just such a homer that you feel excited about any win, even one as tainted as this.

Jennings made the pick and at no time did Tate have anything resembling equal possession. He wrapped his hands on the balls after Jennings came down with it. Oh, that was after the most blatent push off in NFL history. Then he goes on to act the fool like he just made the greatest play in NFL history. Idiot. Then Carroll makes himself look like a fool by calling it a good call. Idiot.

If you want to point to the PI on Seattle, which was a bad call, what about the phantom PI on GB when Seattle was in a 1st and 35? Oh what about the roughing the passer on GB that nulified the INT? You know, the one where the defender made a tackle on Wilson just as he released the ball. Yeah, I didn't think you would comment on this.

The media isn't anti Seattle. They see the play for what it was, an embarrassment to the NFL and an abomination that will affect who makes the playoffs. Gruden was all over Seattles nob in the first half and even he was lost for words at the end and had the best line of the night when he said "I just don't feel good about this". Simple but the feeling of every NFL fan who isn't a blatent homer or happy that it helped their fantasy team win.

So go sell your "I'm a Green Bay fan" to someone else. I'm not buying that today.

I've been a Seahawks fan since the age of 5 and I think that call SUCKED. The whole game was officiated HORRIBLY and its disappointing to see two good teams duke it out and then have it all go down like that.

I normally like a little more offense, but it was a fun, exciting game to watch except for the penalty flags every other play. Some of the penalties were mind boggling. The roughing the passer call that nullified the INT was a joke. He lunged to tackle him just as he threw the ball. You can't stop in mid flight. The PI that kept the GB drive going was horrible. The INT on GB to give Seattle a first down was even worse. These guys are out of their league, plain and simple.

Anyway, this game is getting so much national attention for a reason. It is the single worst example of having the technology to make the right call, but yet not doing it for whatever, unknown reason. Every sports radio station I tune into is talking about it. This will end up being huge in determining who makes the playoffs and the NFL is defending the decision to not overturn the call, even though they admit the call was blown. Amazing...............

Now that you're here, Miller....Lets talk about this.

Any conspiracy theories on this?

I mean....I assume the replacement refs have been coddled by the union. And I assume it's the Union's first priority to get the real refs demands met.

What better way to pressure the NFL than to have a few games skewed by by poor officiating?

Seriously, even the saps that think the world is just as it appears have to admit that instant reply should nearly eliminate all the bad calls but Monday proved that the replacement refs are COMMITTED to making bad calls.

Now....if the NFL were to "take over" the role of judging instant replays and trumping the refs decision then things might get back to almost normal.

Or heck....let the darn commentators decide. They seem to know everything.

Well let me first state that I have yet to see the play....had to leave early this morning and today was crazy so all I have done is listen to the reaction.

As far as conspiracy theory....not buying. What i am buying is that these are just poor officials. Not their fault.....it is what it is, if they were good, they would not have been officiating at the levels they were. i heard somewhere that 3 of these replacements are Pac-10 officials that were let go b/c they were no good.....tell ya anything? They are now tossed into games with the best football player in the world and they can't process the information fast enough.

As far as the replay comment, isn't part of the issue that you can not review "who" had possession, only if the catch was or was not made? So regardless of who reviews the replays, this one was blown when he didn't huddle up with the rest of the officials and make a group call.
