Okay, NOW I know he needs to be suspended longer.

Cornwell Statement On Stallworth Evidence

Posted by Mike Florio on June 30, 2009 9:14 PM
[Editor's note: Attorney David Cornwell has released the following statement in response to the recent disclosure of the tapes of the 911 call following the March 2009 accident involving Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth, and in anticipation that other evidence will surface. The full text of the statement appears below.]
Evidence leaked or released over the coming days and weeks will reflect exculpatory statements and acts by Donte', the presence of marijuana in his blood, and it will highlight the critical issue of causation. Miami law enforcement personnel, the prosecution, the defense, and the Court were fully aware of all of the evidence when the plea agreement was reached. We will continue to address these matters candidly and privately with the NFL.
The NFL's substance abuse policy addresses the specific discipline that may be imposed for use of illegal substances. We are confident that Commissioner Goodell will respect existing League polices and consider all of the evidence when making his disciplinary assessment.
So, he was not only drunk when he stupidly decided to drive...but was also high. I am thinking two years ain't long enough again....:nono:

Vick and Stallworth shouldn't even be used in the same sentence. Vick did 2 years Stallworth only 30 days.

You now think that 2yrs is not enough because you just found out that Stallworth was also smoking weed ???:rolleyes: :hmmm:

If alcohol was not consumed and Stallworth was only under the influence of marijuana, this thread would have never been started.

I'm going to presume by your statement that you never smoked the KGB ??????

not trying to argue, but "the presence of marijuana in his blood" doesn't mean he was high . . . it means he had it in his system . . . it supposedly takes 2 wks to get out of your system for a pee test . . . it's probably longer for a blood test . . . ;)

First, both are illegal..driving under the influence AND use of marijiuana.
Second, no, never have smoked it. Never will.
Third, if as stated later that it can stay in blood...I still think this extends the ban. Why?

He was already in the drug program for NFL.
Second violation is a 4 game suspension I believe - that is for Marijuana test.
Third violation drunk driving is a one year ban.
Fourth violation - vehicular manslaughter guilty plea is a lifetime ban.

All I want is the two years. I think I am being fair. ;)

I'm not passing judgment against you for not ever smoking weed, actually i commend you for never trying it.

Thats cool for you wanting the 2yrs.

Yes the use of Marijuana is illegal and the reason i asked if you have ever smoked weed before then you could relate, if that's all he had done and not gotten drunk that the accident would have most likely not have occurred since Marijuana dont impair your senses like liquor does.

Just something to think about.

Sadly...I think you are right here.....

Has not been the focus of this discussion but withholding the video on behalf of the victim's family tends to indicate that the video demonstrates the role Mario played in creating the accident.

Would explain why a plea deal was agreeable to both sides. Maybe it was really withheld because Goodell did not want it.
