Wasn't it last year or the year before when he played while his kid was on life support? Maybe I have the wrong guy in my mind but if he isn't in jail I expect he'll play.

He whooped his kid with a switch.

Remember when that was a part of growing up right?

People wonder why our kids are growing up being little disrespectful punk asses...this is why.

No. way.
Has that been reported?

I've gotten the switch. Earn it, and learned from it.

You got it Khan. Here's the rotoworld story.

The arrest stems from "the disciplining of a son with a switch," according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The investigation has been ongoing, and Peterson testified for a grand jury weeks ago. Peterson missed practice on Thursday, but the Vikings reported it as a "veteran's day." The Vikings are "currently deciding on Peterson's status for Week 2."

Yeah, he'll play.

That's most of what I am reading as well from comments on fb.

People are saying its absolutely stupid.

One of my favorites so far said "If that's illegal my grandma should be doing 25 to life"

Indicted though?

I'm feeling less dismissive.

Maybe he went too far with it.
Y'know, moreso than what we grew up with.

Then when I got home momma would get me and if she wasn't satisfied I'd learned my lesson dad would whoop on me too.

Maybe we should nominate him for Parent of the Year.

possible but I doubt. If you were charged now with the stuff our parents got away with then and vice versa foster care would be overun with misplaced children.
Im a little worried too but if this happened in May and there just now asking him to turn himself in Im only a little worried. Im more worried what Goodell might try to do to "save face" or something irrational.

The Vikings have issued a statement regarding the charges filed against running back Adrian Peterson on Friday. Peterson was ordered to turn himself in to Texas law enforcement officials in response to an indictment on charges of injury to a child, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
"The Vikings are in the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation involving Adrian Peterson. At this time, we will defer further questions to Adrian’s attorney Rusty Hardin."
It remains to be seen if the team will allow Peterson to play on Sunday against New England.

the pics and story make it sound a bit excessive of an average whoopin. though a switch is gonna leave a much worse mark than a hand used with even more force. Speaking from experience

Has no one told these new parents that the age of psychological warfare against your children has begun??

You can't go hitting a kid anymore! Come on, brah! You have to get in that kids head to do your damage these days

Most of my whoopings were well above a bit excessive. I have yet to kill anyone. Kids today become thugs and killers because parents want to be their friends and will not whoop the fire out of 'em. Did you know that as a parent you can be arrested for leaving a mark, any mark on your kid?
