rotoworld,

Coach Tom Cable denies an ESPN report that the Raiders have discussed signing free agent Terrell Owens.

"We really haven't had any discussion about that," Cable said. "We've got a good, young receiving corps, it's never been a point of conversation." We find it hard to believe that Owens' name hasn't come up at Raiders headquarters, but it's certainly possible that the talks never turned serious. Owens doesn't appear close to finding a suitor, and he may have to wait for a training camp injury to get a shot. May. 18 - 8:43 pm et

Owens will be signed. there are still multiple teams out there that are in dire need of Wrs. I think it will wait til camps start..and they see what they really have. Then the heat will go up and Owens will get calls.

If the Raiders dont want T.O. who does, the dude will be a locker room & on field cancer to what ever NFL team wants him.

T.O will need to take a huge pay cut.

Follow D.Culpepper to the UFL is my guess

The interest wasn't so high last season if I recall correctly. Yet I agree, someone will give the big mouth a job.

Pittsburgh maybe. With Sweed out for the year and getting rid of ole whats his name they might need an exp WR on the field.

No, I don't think so. Pittsburgh is trying to rebuild their reputation. The last thing they will do is sign a high risk player..........with all else going on.

Good point Phicinfan, still I wonder who'll put the jerk on their team? Someone will, it's a win at all cost league on many fronts.

rotoworld,

NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that the Seahawks made "an exploratory phone call" about free agent Terrell Owens earlier this offseason.

It sounds like this was before rookie Golden Tate began lighting up minicamp. Wyche acknowledges that the current extent of Seattle's interest in T.O. is unknown, but reports that the rumored Owens-Raiders marriage "is not going to happen" at this time. The Raiders are reportedly confident that the light will flip on for 2009 No. 7 overall pick Darrius Heyward-Bey. May. 19 - 7:39 pm et

Actually it not so much who will turn him down as it is who is not calling, period. Last year, T.O. signed very quickly with The Bills saying at the time there was a lot of offers. Maybe he signed quickly with the Bills before they figured out that they were making the only offer? Like Phicinfan says he will go some where as the need is great out there. Right now the big problem is T.O. still envisions himself as the $4 million dollar man. He will probably find work when he re-envisions himself as the $2 million dollar man.

He might have to wait til a pre season injury on some team before they even call him and then again he might be threw, teams might just think he's too much hassle to be worth it.

SI's Peter King has a "hunch" that he wouldn't be surprised if free agent Terrell Owens signs with the Redskins.

King makes it clear he isn't reporting here, and doesn't give any reasons for his "hunch." The Redskins shot down rumors last month about a reunion between T.O. and Donovan McNabb, but Santana Moss is now likely facing a suspension for HGH. Owens has attracted very few nibbles on the open market.

(KFFL)Chicago Bears TE Greg Olsen said there was nothing to read into his meeting with free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bills) at a Chicago nightspot and that they didn't talk about football, according to the Chicago Tribune. Olsen and QB Jay Cutler ran into Owens Sunday, May 23, when the two went out after minicamp wrapped and then made plans to meet up with Owens later that night. "I know a lot of people read into things, but it really was just that we happened to bump into him earlier in the night and then met up again later on," Olsen said. "That's the extent of it."

Holy cow, will someone please sign this guy so I can get one more mediocre season with him before I drop his ass?

The SeaHawks will pass on TO.

rotoworld,Seahawks GM John Schneider said that they would probably not sign Terrell Owens unless "something drastic happens."

Cross another option off the list for Owens. The Seahawks have brought a plethora of wideouts into camp -- including castoffs Mike and Reggie Williams -- in hopes of uncovering a gem. And with Golden Tate wowing the coaches, they don't see a need for Owens right now.

Maybe t. owens and j. russell can play catch with each other. and maybe even play for a cfl team that wants has beens and never will bes.

rotoworld,
Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went to bat for free agent Terrell Owens, saying their relationship last year "was nothing but great for me."

T.O. did consistently perform best with Fizpatrick under center, as opposed to Trent Edwards or Brian Brohm. "I really appreciated what Terrell brought to the table," Fitz said. "His work ethic was tremendous. We didn’t ever have any problems, and there were open lines of communication on the sideline. He certainly wasn’t shy about suggesting stuff, or letting you know he was open on a play, but that’s part of the quarterback-wide receiver relationship."

The Chargers set to pass on T.O.

rotoworld,
The Chargers won't be signing free agent Terrell Owens as insurance against a Vincent Jackson holdout, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee.

Profootballtalk.com reported earlier in the day that the Bolts had yet to touch base with T.O., and Acee emphatically closed the door on the possibility of revisiting the situation this summer. Legedu Naanee is in line to pick up a couple of starts in the event of a Jackson suspension and/or holdout.

Not a big surprise here. Was hoping the Raiders might have been a good landing spot, but alas, not meant to be.

How many teams are left???

rotoworld,
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi, free agent Terrell Owens "is not -- and will not be -- on the Browns' radar."

In theory, signing Owens would be a good move for a team whose No. 1 receiver has 34 career catches, but GM Tom Heckert is on record as saying T.O. won't come to Cleveland. Owens remains without an obvious suitor.

Starting to get a bit suprised here. Maybe teams are waiting to see what they have a WR before making any desicions.
