Big East adds some schools in attempt to save AQ status

The most southwesterly Div 1A program on the continent is in the Big East? Big East could use a geography lesson while the Big and Small Can't-Count-Conferences take an arithmetic lesson.

Washington to perform $250 million renovation of Husky Stadium

Coach Sark's blog has pictures of the on going demolition/renovation. The lower bowl has been demoed and the south stands are being deconstructed. Husky Stadium Update: Day 30 | Coach Sark

How much does the UCLA job suck?

UCLA is far, far behind in facilities, stadium, and has a reputation of being extremely cheap when it comes to paying coaches and assistant coaches. I think they will end up with Walker.

June Jones to Arizona State not happening, new problems at SMU

Wow. ASU is a mess. They have a weak, reactionary AD who should be canned. Sadly they are too busy looking for a football coach to worry about the inept AD who will likely hire the football coach. If I was Pres., I'd go over the AD's head to make the right hire.

Rumor: Mike Sherman relieved of duties

I still haven't figured out why they hired him in the first place.

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

Yeah, I know. First time I visited the place, I was a Soph. in HS. We were walking along Stadium Way, and I was trying to figure out where the heck it was. About 20 seconds later, after passing the computer building, there it was in a hole hidden by the surrounding buildings. As sad as...

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

Leach's pirate ship is docked at the Port of Lewiston. WSU has landed themselves a new coach. They return two good QBs and a super stud WR so Leach should win right away.

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

Pullman is getting less crappy, but it is still a long two lane road drive from any significant population center. It recently jacked the Wal-Mart from nearby Moscow, ID and opened a cinemas. They also built the best on campus golf course in the Pac-10 if not the nation. Not a terrible place...

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

According to my sources near the desolate Idaho border, if AD Bill Moos can't get an agreement from a bigger name like Leach or Bellotti, Wulff's job is safe for another year. Moos does not want to fire Wulff and then scramble for a third rate replacement if the big names decline or are...

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

WSU would be lucky to get someone like Leach. Their current AD, Bill Moos the former Oregon AD, is real close to Mike Bellotti so that is another potential candidate. I expect either Leach or Bellotti to land at either ASU or WSU.

Mike Leach leading candidate at Washington State

I think you mean Washington State the school, or Idaho the state where the school is (practically) located.

What do you think are the best jobs in CFB?

Texas Florida Ohio State (gap) Those are the clear top 3. The others mentioned have some flaws. USC is in the hood and has crappy facilities, plus do not own an on campus stadium. Alabama is in a smaller state with stiff in-state competition. Michigan is located in a dying state. Right...

Something for the Pac-12 folk to chew on

Oregon should be on probation too, so it should really be Stanford-UCLA.

    Dennis Erickson should be fired

Sounds like he is gone. I'd expect Bellotti or Leach to replace him and the other to end up in Pullman.

    Big East Invites 5 Schools

I no longer see any hope for the Big East, as a football conference. UConn and Rutgers to ACC makes sense. WVU, Cincy, Louisville, and USF need to start talking to the Texas and the medium 8. Big 16 West: Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, BYU, UNLV, SDSU Big 16 East...

    Big East Looking at Expansion

The ACC, SEC, and Big 12 hold the Big East's fate. If the SEC stops at 13, the ACC at 14, and the Big 12 at 10 (or a 12 with Houston and BYU), then the Big East should survive. If the Big East loses UConn and Rutgers to the ACC; Cincy, Louisville, and West Virginia to the Big 12, then they...
