Which 5 Would You Rather Have?

$$ League with HQ on this forum :) non-ppr, 4pts pass TD, 6 pts other

Team 1:

E. Manning
C. Wells
R. Wayne
W. Welker
J. Maclin

Team 2:

P. Manning
LT
Sidney Rice
A. Gates
J. Witten

Team 3:

Caddy Williams
J. Addai
B. Marshall
S. Smith (Car.)
C. Ochocinco

Which group of 5 keepers would you choose?

I like team 2 but not sure about keeping 2 TE's. Team 1 would be appealing if I was confident Welker would be 100%... Team 3 comes in 3rd for me.

I say team 2. LT is the only player that isn't a legit #1 (Rice is borderline) and LT has found himself a very nice retirement home. The question, as previously mentioned, is what do you do with 2 TEs?

But also note you do not have to start any TE's.....they are simply WR's in that league....

Like the receivers, but Welker is a question mark IMO. Wells should be better this year, but I don't know abotu a RB1. I have never been a fan of Eli

Team 2:

P. Manning
LT
Sidney Rice
A. Gates
J. Witten
Peyton is great. Gates and Witten put up WR2 numbers. Rice depends on if Favre comes back, which I think he will. I could see LT Being the goal line back. Last year he was the king of the 1 yd tds. Overall, I like this team the best. But it is in need of RBs.

Team 3:

Caddy Williams
J. Addai
B. Marshall
S. Smith (Car.)
C. Ochocinco

Good RB2s, but not really RB1 quality. Very nice set of WRs though. They might offset the RB production because they are all WR1s.

I will say that Team 2 belongs to me. Its a 16 team league and last year Gates was #15 scoring receiver which makes him a #1 in this league.

I'm usually a year off in my predictions for huge years and Witten was a guy that I (and a whole lot of other people) had pegged for a mega season with the loss of T.O. I think this is the year he goes off for 85 catches 1200 yds and 8-10 TD's. He only had 2 last year and is still only 27 years old and is far from being past his prime.

Sidney Rice could make or break this team for me. I do think Favre comes back but still am uncertain as to how he will do this year. He's unbelievably still only 23 years old it seems like he's been around this league forever being crappy. He was only 19 when he was drafted if I'm not mistaken so maybe Favre has made him better in ways other then having the ball placed right in his hands (route running, getting off the line.... ?) and he's ready to take his place in the top 10 for years to come with or without Favre.

LT will have a great year. He'll at least duplicate Thomas Jones #'s from last year imo. He's no spring chicken but in a $$ league you have to draft to win now. I would love to have a better RB but he was the best available to me.

I was one of those who predicted great things for Witten as well. They have not done much to improve the WR position so even if Miles is the new TO I think he will have a great year.

Granted Rice needs Favre but once the old man got onboard I expected Rice to make a huge jump. I'm hoping the production remains about the same and he continues to develop so there is not a great dip after Bret REeAaaLllllYyyyyy retires.

As I mentioned I have not jumped on the Greene bandwagon and expect LT to be the primary back over the course of the entire season.

I like the potential of team 5.

Addai was a top 5 pick just a couple years and had a real nice 2009. Williams had an amazing comeback and looks to be the guy in Tampa, so that's a solid RB group.

The receivers are excellent. Marshall is a stud, COC will be solid and IF Moore plays well, Smith should jump back into the top 10.

A pair of two 30+ year old receivers and Marshall who has way too many question marks. Addai isn't great and either is Caddy. Team 3=meh

Well, 30 isn't old for a WR. Marshall is a stud. Addai is solid and if Caddy stays healthy, he should be too.

All teams are Meh, but IMO, this team is less Meh than the other two.

Smith has a new QB and still no solid #2

Chad Johnson will get distracted and pull a Meshawn Johnson impression when the other guys cut into his action

Marshall is in a 3 yr slide, on a new team

Addai going to lose some carries to Brown this year?

Caddy is just one of many RB's in the TB camp with starting experience

IMO none of these teams will compete for a championship for a couple years. Not because I don't think these guys will be good owners but just because it is extremely difficult to draft a team that can compete from a supplemental draft. With that said I like team 1 the best. He has Manning, Wells, and Maclin who are all young and he also has the option of keeping Slaton over Welker if he's afraid of Welkers injury.

1) Smith did pretty well with Moore in the small sample size last year.

2) You don't know that. He may flourish with less defensive focus on him

3) Huge misconception. Maybe a few less receptions, but more red zone looks IMO

4) Why more this year than last? I don't think being a rookie was issue. I don't think you see any more of a split this year than last.

5) True, but Graham didn't see much action last year and Ward is overrated. Williams will be the #1 if healthy.

1. Key word highlighted
2. I admit it don't know jack - that hasn't stopped me from spout'n off at the keyboard yet
3. No misconception - his yardage (and ypc) has been in a slow decline
4. Brown was a rookie - has a full season under his belt
5. Caddy will have his chance but will be on a short leash but then again refer back to #2

3) But his touchdowns were up. Plus, he is only 26, so it's not like his yardage declined due to declining skills. 100 catches for three straight years is an accomplishment only done by a few WRs in history. Not bad for a young guy who is still learning. I would only rate AJ and Fitz as guys I would rather have in a keeper or dynasty format.................

His TD's were up last year over the previous but not over an extended period.

How do you defend no decline in skill? The # of receptions have been similar but the ypc has been going down without any swings upward. It isn't like I am saying he is a has been but there is definitely signs of a decline.

AJ and Fitz are at the top of everyone's wish list for the WR position. I would jump ahead of the curve and go with Miles, Rice and maybe even the Jacksons in front of him.
