I never even considered that Rodgers was the problem last year. He was the highlight. The problem was the general manager and Coach yanking the heart and soul out of a team. They decided to force the hand of brett into an earlier decision on his future then he wanted to give. It was a case of "Chicken" and Brett didn't blink. They should have taken their medicine and realized this was Favres team, but the GM decided to make it about him being bigger than Brett. It was telling when Donald Driver said, "If this can happen to brett this is gonna happen to all of us." The team was fractured and split beyond repair, luckily Rodgers was up to the early challenge and the team started off well. As the season progressed though, he was put into all sorts of situations where he needed to finish a game or come back, and he wasn't capable. They dropped a handful of games in the 4th qtr. by less than 3 points. After everyone of those games they realized (the players) that brett was right, and that he did give them the chance to win every game always. He still does. Rodgers is a fine young Qb, who handled a fine mess dealt to him by a bone head named Thompson and a whimpy sidekick named Fife, as well as it could be handled. Now he just has to take the next step up and become a winner. The tough part about that is he is in the still growing shadow of the biggest winner to ever grace the football field!
As a pack fan I am real proud of Rodgers, and he played a hell of a game Sunday vs. a energetic Cowboys rush. He didn't do anything to hurt the packers chances in that game. This game was won by the defense, and more specifically by Woodson's 9 tackles, two forced fumbles, and pick on the goal line. Jolly, jenkins, matthews and the boys complimented him well, but it was Woodson's game.
Thompson and McCarthy have to go though for what they did to this team.
