The Lineup Doctor 2009 Edition

egoo:

I think if Reggie Bush couldn't do more vs. Detroit, I don't have much confidence in him vs. Philly.

I would go with Ray Rice and Leon Washington. Washington should be used heavily after seeing how well Fred Jackson did out of the backfield against NE

stagee2000:

I like Derrick Mason and Santana Moss.

Mason is a much better option in ppr then standard scoring leagues and Moss should rebound against St. Louis.

RB Question

Hey Chris, question for week 2.

Pick two RBs to start:

P. Thomas @ Eagles
M. Bell @ Eagles
D. Brown @ Dolphins
C. Wells @ Jaguars
F. Jones vs Giants
K. Smith vs Vikings

Might be best to wait and see how the NO running backs will look on Sunday, but do any of the others stand out to you as decent starts this week?

Thanks.

RB idea

I went with Welker over C. Johnson last week and it worked out, but this week I gotta start him vs the Texans. My question is, do you think L. White is a better play than M. Barber?

C.Johnson vs. Texans
L.White vs Texans
or
M. Barber vs. Giants

I don't like to start 2 players on the same team the same week, but this week looks like one of those times I break my rule. I'm a little light on RB, until M. Lynch gets back, so this is my only option, unless I go Smith(Car)/Welker/Ocho again.

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

The Evil Genius
ESPN, Week 2

Chris,

I have a second team in an ESPN league.

3 of Rice, Grant, LT and Sproles. I'm thinking sit LT.

2 of Boldin, Royal, Walter, Avery and Henry. (in addition, Bruce, Berrian, Clayton (TB), Gage and Evans are free agents). Should I go with Boldin and drop one or two guys and pick up Berrian and Evans for example and play Berrian against Detroit along side Boldin? I'm surprised that all those wr were dropped this week by other teams. Seems like I should get Evans and Berrian?

Thanks.

SchultzAndy:

First of all, I think you have to go Kevin Smith despite the horrible matchup against Minnesota. He is the only true #1 you've got on your team. If your league is ppr that's a definite upgrade for him as well.

Next, yes I would wait and see what happens in NO. If Thomas is out again then Bell gets the nod from me. If Thomas is playing then I think that Bell is still going to get carries and you should go with Donald Brown. He looked good against Jacksonville, and I think that Indy beats Miami big time and there will be lots of carries to go around.

silver:

At TE, I don't see how you can bench Carlson after his big game last week. The addition of Housh has really opened up the middle of the field for him and he looks to be headed for a top 5 year.

I'll take my chances with the Tennesee D. I want no part of any fantasy D that's going up against New Orleans.

For your RB, the only way I'm starting Leon over Gore or Barber is if your league gives you pts for return yardage AND ppr.

Chuckrock2004:

I like Chris Johnson a lot this week, but I don't see the Texans D as one that is going to give up so many rushing yards that it would be adviseable to start both Johnson and White. The Jets o-line is one of the top 3-4 in the NFL so it has the ability to make any teams rush D look awful. I'd roll with the 3 WR's again this week.

johnlines:

Grant and Rice are definitely starters this week. As far as LT is concerned, I would be absolutely sure that he is going to be out for the game or VERY limited. If LT plays, I think he'll have better numbers then Sproles.

I'd start Boldin and Royal at WR. I think that the Denver offense will be much improved this week and despite the fact the Royal didn't have great numbers last week he was targeted a TON. I look for a big rebound for him this week as Orton's injury will be a little better and he'll have an easier time making some of the throws that he couldn't last week.

As far as the FA pickups, yes I would pick up Berrian and Evans and drop Bruce and Clayton. I'm hesitant to start Berrian just yet b/c it looks like Favre is going to be a walking definition of "Game Manager" this year.

comegetDATnguyen:

The Steelers look like a team that wants to throw the ball around this year. I'll roll with the guy who threw for almost 400 yards last week against a pretty good Tennessee secondary.

Ok...for my 2009 OTHER team:

RB - (need 2)

Ray Rice (@SD)
Matt Forte (Pitt)
Ronnie Brown (IND)
Jamaal Lewis (@Den)

I am looking likely at Rice & Forte (hard to go against them) but Lewis has an easier matchup against Denver. Forte and Bears did not look great and I thought I would see more screens to Forte or dump offs. Anyway...thoughts?

realmwalker:

I'm probably going to get hate mail for this, but I am not a Forte fan this year. Couple that with his ridiculous matchup against Pittsburgh and I'm benching his ass. I would go with Rice and Brown. I just have a feeling that Ronnie is going to go off on MNF against the Colts.

German CTL

Circle City Outlaw
I need to start 3 of these guys - .5 PPR, 1 pt per 10 rush/rec, 6 pts per TD

MB III vs NYG
F. Jackson vs TB
R. Rice @ SD
P. Thomas @ Philly (if he goes?)
M. Bell @ Philly (if Thomas doesn't go?)
LT vs Balt (if he goes?)
D. Sproles vs Balt (if LT doesn't go?)

I'm leaning towards the top three guys on the list right now...

From what I hear Thomas is a go BUT he will split carries with Bell this week. I agree. Rice, MBIII and Jackson are your best bets this week.

Ok...standard Yahoo scoring

Had a crap showing for wk1 but got some new players on the roster and would like your thoughts

3 wides from:

AJ
H. Ward
Marshall (Den looks like s**t soup)
Hester (like what they seem to want to do with him)
Crayton (he killed me with good/bad games in the past...but it looked like they will use him more AND he held onto the friggin ball)

2 backs:
C. Johnson (laid a fat turd BUT Hou def looked like crap...but will hou def bounce back this quickly?)
Slaton (laid a fat turd BUT Ten lost some personnel)
J.Stewart (didn't play him...but he's not lookin great. I know everyone says he'll come around...we'll see)
M.Bell (picked him up off the wire and it soundsgood for him. So many stories about PT in, PT out...this wk against philly isn't exciting anyway since they stuffed Ten)

TE have shiancoe but heath miller and watson are both on the wire but can only get one

thank you in advance

Alright got one for ya... I Need flex and QB advice for my $$ league.

2 RB, 2WR, 1 Flex RB/WR/TE

RB: K. Smith
RB. R. Rice
WR: L. Fitz
WR: T.O.
Flex:
Willie Parker
Ben Watson
Chris Henry
Lance Moore
Robert Meachem

Also at QB would you go Palmer or Eli Manning... I keep flipping.

n3twyrker:

AJ is a must start every week, so there is your first one. I know Denver looked like crap, but I'm not writing them off. As I have told others with Denver WR questions, I'm going to give both Marshall and Royal another shot this week and I expect good production from both. I'm not buying Devin Hester as a reliable fantasy WR just yet and the same goes for Crayton. If both do well next week I'll change my tune but until then go- AJ, Ward, Marshall.

At RB, Johnson will put up the #1 RB #'s you drafted him for this week.

Bell and Thomas are going to split carries so he's out as far as I'm concerned.

Stewart is really not much more then a bye week replacement in my eyes.

That leaves Slaton. Its a tough matchup for sure, but keep this in mind. In both of his games against Tennessee last year he topped 100 yds AND that was with Haynesworth plugging up the middle. Start CJ and Slaton!

tblGoBlue:

At flex I think I would give Lance Moore another shot this week. I think that Drew Brees could pretty much do whatever he wanted last week but Moore will be a necessity for him this week.

At QB I like Palmer over Manning. Something about this Dallas/NYG game has pound the rock by the Giants written all over it. I don't think Manning will put up big numbers.
