Just heard this on the radio! WOW!!!! Kid just shot to the top of the Al Davis draft board!

Seriously, that time is just sick for someone that big.

Dunno. NFL Network did a simulcam comparing Mays' two runs with the fastest of the combine and it sure as hell didn't look like 2/10 slower.

EDIT: Deion compared him to Louis Oliver. If Mays does as well as Oliver, I'd say whichever team picks him will have spent their pick well.

To expand a bit on what DD wrote..

Did the NFL Screw Up Taylor Mays' Time? -- NFL FanHouse

I don't know all the ins and outs of the method they actually use at the Combine for "precision" measurement, but maybe they should look into contracting out some IOC-trained folks to come in and handle at least the 40 times since they are obviously the category that everyone seems to care about the most.

I was watching Haden run and by the eyeball test, he looked faster than Mays. .2 slower. Odd................

That is an awesome video! Looks like Mays ran the 2nd fastest time, right ahead of best. What is crazy is that Dickerson, the TE, was right there as well. I would have liked to see them put Spiller in that screen as well.

Haden looked slow to me when he ran.....didn't expect that either. He is still a first rd pick, but just like Jankins last year, he may have ran himself out of the top 10.

I hope so. Right into the waiting arms of San Francisco..............:xpopcorn:

I was reading some stuff on Haden and he trains with his dad. I wonder how much his 40 time suffered on starting technique? Anyway, it will be interesting on what he runs on his pro day.

FOOTBALL!
I heard an NFL guy on the radio today and it sounds like Taylor's 40 time was legit. It is amazing the evolution of athletes. Many of today's skill players are sons of former linemen. Taylor's dad was an NFL DL for 9 years.
