I feel Hernandez IS their valid deep threat WHEN Gronk is right. A healthy Gronk isn't too bad of a deep threat either. I definitly see Lloyd heading to NE. When Brady is flushed and has to use his legs at all, he simply can't deliver the ball. He is definitly waning in regards to his elite status. He is still very good, but he can't move at all anymore. It does not take anything away from his 3 Super Bowl wins or his tenacity as a competitor.

Oh man, Lloyd's value would rise tremendously if he goes to NE. He could become a valuable commodity for sure. But would it be real? I mean, would they use him properly, or continue the dink and dunk, using him mostly to stretch the Def?

He's never been considered a scrambler but he didn't look too bad when he escaped (JPP ?) on the last drive and hit Branch on the sidelines to keep their slim chances alive. That's as good as I've ever seen Brady move out of the pocket (which isn't saying much) so I don't think he falling off in that regard mostly because he was never that good at it to begin with

I guess if you only include Rodgers and Brees as "elite" with Brady and Eli next I can't really argue with that. I think it's fair.

At the beginning of the season they were definitely throwing the ball down field more, trying to use Ocho and Branch that way. But as Chad showed he just wasn't on the same page they went away from the deep ball. I remember earlier in the season Holt had commented how difficult it was for him to pick up the system and he had a full off-season. He said Ocho would be lucky to "get it" by mid-season which never happened. Lloyd already knows the system. He could step right in. He would be a perfect fit in my opinion and would be used down field, not just a decoy.

Intentional Grounding in the endzone, safety, Giants lead 2-0

this turned out to be a very valuable 2 pts . . . had this not happened and everything else stayed the same, the pats would have only needed a field goal to tie and send it into OT . . . ;)

I have trouble trusting Billy boy though. I have a slight concern that Lloyd could be relegated to decoy less by his ability as much as Tom's lack of ability. I just don't think Tom is a down field guy....JMHO

I would say the aerial assault of 2009 (the last time Moss was effective as a deep threat) would disagree with you, plus Gronk and Hernandez caught their fair share this season as well. But I guess it depends on how you define "down field".

.....Except in the super bowl.....right? Get the guy a deep threat first and foremost, then teach him to throw more than 5 yards at a time, successfully, and watch everything else open wide up...... is there really a deep threat to be found in the draft? or would they be better off in free agency?

On Sunday, the Super Bowl will have a rematch from a prior Super Bowl for the fifth time.

In the first Super Bowl rematch, the Steelers defeated the Cowboys, again.
In the second, the Niners defeated the Bengals, again.
In the third, the Cowboys defeated the Bills, again.
In the fourth, the Cowboys defeated the Steelers, finally.

History seems pretty clear on the initial rematch.
I'd also like to add my analysis of the line to this.
There was only one reason to set the Pats at -2.5 or 3.
The Public.

Either team could have won. One had to.
