Raiders HC Tom Cable is likely to be terminated

FOOTBALL!
What quality/experienced head coach would ever consider the Raiders? They are going to take a stab on another greenhorn/retread who is willing to kiss Al's antique rings, because they can't get anyone else.

Another franchise that is screwed due to meddling/incompetent ownership. At least Davis isn't half as bad as Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.

When talking about meddling/incompetent owners you can't leave Mike Brown off the list.....

You think he is the guy to lead your team through the next 3-5 years and take them to the next level? I just don't see it. You follow them much closer than I do, but I just don't see elite HC there. I think there is a lot of talent and this team could do something with the right coach. This could be a serious contender soon with a few changes.

depends on how you define HC. Personally, give me a HC that knows how to hire solid OC and DC and can manage the game clock and such...and you have a winner. The hire of Jackson as OC has helped immensely. DC is solid. They have solid young talent that will only be added too. He has them playing with discipline which is huge in that city. I say give the guy a chance to build some familiarity and you have a good chance at success

I hope I eat my words....this is the dumbest move ever! You destroy the AFC west, have a great running game, need 1 playmaker reciever and have a great defense...and now you want to change that? Come On MANNNNNNNNN!

I hate it for Raider fans and for Cable. I guess his having different ideas about who the starting QB should be than Al didn't help his cause. Keep the faith Raider fans even Al has a chance of being lucky and making a good hire. Hey-It could happen!

Im with you Miller!!

Raiders have a good team; are on the rise in terms of talent, but Cable is not the guy to get us there in my eyes either. We had a few times this season where there was a HUGE game for us, a chance for us to be relevant, and frankly, the raiders did NOT get it done.

And Escrow: "Great D"??? C'MON MAN!! Bottom half in points allowed; bottom 5 in rushing yards/game allowed? bottom half in turnovers as well I believe.

Its a team on the rise for sure, but lets not use the word Great :p

Okay, so lets say you and Miller are correct. So you think a OC with NO HC history will do better? This is Oakland, Al Davis...he isn't getting one of the big coaching prospects folks. I happen to think what Cable has done, in the situation he was in, is pretty damn impressive. Given the added talent they can get in the draft...they could do very well.

I think there are plenty of coaches out there who have a better chance of doing well with this team as compared to Cable, yes!

I already pointed above how the D was pretty average (if not below average).

Outside our division; our two wins were the Rams & Seattle!

But every single time, I thought, maybe this is the season, we LOST!!!

To open our season, we got beat by the Titans. At 2-3, coming off the win vs SD, im starting to believe, we lost to the 49ers (who were 0-5 at the time I believe). Given up hope, they win 3 in a row. Hope is reborn, coming off the bye, with a great chance to be respectable (At 5-4), we got demolished & embarassed by the steelers, and then got our butts kicked by the Fish. Once again, I've given up hope, they somehow beat the chargers, there is hope. Nope, lose to the Jags!

We may have ended 8-8, but we didnt win a single "big game" as far as I am concerned as a Raiders fan. And we had an easy schedule relatively speaking only playing KC-SD-Indy-Pitts who were above .500 (Thats 6 out of 16 games!!)

Maybe cause im a raiders fan, but I expect more! A LOT MORE!!

I think in the long run this will work in favor of the Raiders as long as H.Jackson stays longer than 2 seasons, i must keep the faith.

I read that former HC T.Cable and Al Davis did not get along very well so i believe this was the undoing for Cable

I think Hue Jackson has the potential to be a very good coach and think he is better to lead this team than Cable.......

You do realize that this was not cable that hired Jackson as their OC right? Davis brought him in knowing that this was around the corner.....for once Davis was actually looking forward.....kinda scarey, but he may have gotten this right. Only time till tell.
