Raiders HC Tom Cable is likely to be terminated

I think there are plenty of coaches out there who have a better chance of doing well with this team as compared to Cable, yes!

I already pointed above how the D was pretty average (if not below average).

Outside our division; our two wins were the Rams & Seattle!

But every single time, I thought, maybe this is the season, we LOST!!!

To open our season, we got beat by the Titans. At 2-3, coming off the win vs SD, im starting to believe, we lost to the 49ers (who were 0-5 at the time I believe). Given up hope, they win 3 in a row. Hope is reborn, coming off the bye, with a great chance to be respectable (At 5-4), we got demolished & embarassed by the steelers, and then got our butts kicked by the Fish. Once again, I've given up hope, they somehow beat the chargers, there is hope. Nope, lose to the Jags!

We may have ended 8-8, but we didnt win a single "big game" as far as I am concerned as a Raiders fan. And we had an easy schedule relatively speaking only playing KC-SD-Indy-Pitts who were above .500 (Thats 6 out of 16 games!!)

Maybe cause im a raiders fan, but I expect more! A LOT MORE!!

LOL, you can take out the word "Raiders" and insert " Jax" and its a perfect fit almost. Same story line.

Can a Raider fan help me here?

If what is reported is true, ONE of the reasons this happened was that San Fran requested and interview with Jackson. I have seen a few sites that said they agreed to let it happen. Does anyone know if they did give permission? Or if this interview happened?

My reasoning is....I am not convinced San Fran gets Harbaugh now. So Hue Jackson could be a legit target for San Fran.

What are the Raiders doing, opted not to extend T.Cable's contract making me think that H.Jackson was a lock to take over as HC then give the 49ers permission to talk to Jackson :hmmm:

It wasn't broke in Oakland so why try to fix it? The Cable firing was another bad desicion for Al Davis, again. Might not have been the coach for the future but he had this team playing hard and winning for the first time in years. Al Davis needs to fire Al Davis.

Nah; I have already stated a few reasons Cable should not be back.

But I would have thought Jackson was going to take over as well. Maybe he asked the raiders to let him talk to a few diff teams???

Either way, still dont think Cable was the answer.

Players liked him and he had them playing tough. Coaches sure aren't running to the Oakland organization and Al Davis about the HC job. Nobody seems to want it. AD sent the wrong message across the nfl. Basically he doesnt care if you win or lose, if he wants he will fire at any time. The Raiders are doomed til AD finally steps down.

Thats quite a bold statement to say players liked him. There were a lot of reports that he clashed with many of the assistant coaches (including that fist fight); and there are reports a lot of players played for the OTHER coaches; not for Cable. Plus he has tons of off field issues with abuse and what not. I cannot imagine him leading a bunch of young men properly.

I also dont remember Run DMC or Gallery or Asumo coming out and saying "I would run through a brick wall for him" (Thats what LT said about Rex Ryan; thats why I used the line :p)

T.Cable being the long term answer or how well he was liked by the players or assistant coaches is irrelevant at this point, what is relevant is big Al needs to sign H.Jackson soon to move on for the future.

Al Davis did not like Cable, if Davis dont think highly of a coach or player said individual is doomed.

2003 Hall of Fame inductee and 1981 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen had a falling out with Davis and was benched in his prime playing days so it shows Davis dont care who it is, if your not liked your done.

I still believe Hue Jackson is still the front runner to be the next HC

Thats based on the fact that Hue would even want the HC job. Personally don't think i'd want to coach for someone as bipolar as AD is. Be like walking on glass all the time. Raiders will be a mess til AD steps down from making important decisions.

Probably Jackson; he was only there cause of Al.

I would kill for the return of chucky; but alas, that is never happening. I wished Chucky woulda taken over my cowboys; he would have been a perfect fit for them.
