Brett Favre Could Play Two More Years --
Mon Jun 28, 2010 --from FFMastermind.com
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre could play two more seasons. Favre is looking to extend the years it will take Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning to break Favre’s passing records.

He doesn't know if he's gonna play but he knows he wants to play a couple more years! :xpopcorn:

I know that he was here at the Andrews Institute after season's end and is coming off shoulder surgery or something for the injury that plagued him last season. I have not seen a report on his rehab. If he stays, is it conceivable that we might see a rotating starter QB scenario with Brett and the #2 QB to give the team the depth they need and the experience the #2 QB would need if called on to step in full time? Since drills start soon, we will see if he still has what it takes to be the lone starter. The front office should make their decision fairly soon, to allow the practice the receivers would need to get in sync before the new season begins. I know the old expression "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but "it" is 40+ and coming off an injury.

(Thank you Stormin, it was an ankle injury. My bad.)

I heard the Vikes are looking to deal Sage Rosenfels. That would leave Tarvarus Jackson as the #2..... :worried3:

(TheHuddle) New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees fully expects Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre to be on the field for Week 1 of the 2010 season, playing as well as ever at age 40, according to Nancy Gay, of Fanhouse.com. The Saints will host the Vikings in the season opener. 'I don't think there's any doubt that Brett Favre is coming back, and he's going to be as good as he's ever been,' Brees said. 'We're going to need our best game to beat him, I know that. They're a good team. A very good team.'
Analysis: It certainly is sounding like the prognositcations of Brees could be right on target as all the signs seem to be in place for a return to action for Favre. It would be hard to imagine the Viking quarterback having the offseason ankle surgery if he was not planning on making another run at the Super Bowl with the Vikings in 2010.

(FFChamps) If Favre returns, everyone on the Vikings roster gets a boost in Fantasy potential. However, if Favre doesnt come back, Minnesotas receivers will likely see a decline in production with Tavaris Jackson at the helm.

An understatement if ever I read one.:biglaugh:

Brett Favre had finished throwing to the youngsters at Oak Grove High School and poked his head out of the field house to see a few reporters standing near his truck, waiting to ask him about his future plans.

Favre ducked back inside and, moments later, someone else jumped into Favre's truck and drove it around to the front of the building Monday morning. With a grin on his face, the 40-year-old quarterback ran out of the building, hopped in and drove off with nothing more than a playful wave to the waiting reporters.

Whether it's throwing passes to high school receivers or dodging members of the media, Favre looks like he's getting along just fine on that surgically repaired ankle.

HAHA He's laying low so he can miss training camp. He'll pull his usual stunt of showing up right before preseason starts.

Of course he will!!

I think everyone has this figured out now after all these years. Favre doesn't struggle with whether or not he wants to play or retire, he just doesn't want to face the heat and work of TC!! Plain and simple.

And why should he have to do TC?? He's the super veteran, he never makes mistakes, he knows all the plays. All the great QBs skip TC, right???

I just wish they would come out and say Yes, he's coming back....No, he won't be at TC....

No issues with it.

(KFFL) Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre said in an interview with Men's Journal magazine he is not worried about doing more damage to his body by playing another season, according to Sean Leahy, of USA TODAY. Favre added he's made his peace with how his injuries will affect his body later in life. "Playing another year probably isn't going to make a difference; the damage has already been done," Favre said.

cbssports.com,
QB Brett Favre told ESPN on Wednesday that the health of his ankle will be a key factor in whether he returns to the Vikings for the 2010 season. "It starts with the ankle," Favre said. "I can walk fine, but you don't walk in football. I had hoped it would have been a little bit better at this point. "When you wake up in the morning and your feet hurt it kind of makes the rest of your body hurt. And If you've been sacked 700 times that usually adds to it."

Analysis: Favre had surgery on his ankle back in late May, so the fact he's still feeling the joint isn't surprising. He will likely take things very easy for the next couple of weeks before starting training camp in July 30. The ankle might limit him at the beginning of camp, but he'll have to test it at some point, and then we'll really get a good idea of his chances of playing in 2010. All signs point to him giving it a shot though, so head into drafts thinking about him as a risky low-end No. 1 Fantasy QB in most formats.

We know he is going to play. The Vikings did nothing with the QB position in the offseason. Are they really going to put this year on Tarvaris' or Sage's shoulders?
