Favre Drama Begins

As suggested before, he is just waiting til either preseason or the start of the season but either way i really do think he'll be back in Minnesota come week 1.

According to Dr. James Andrews, Brett Favre still needs "a few more weeks" of rehab from offseason ankle surgery before deciding whether to play.

Andrews did confirm that Favre's surgery went well, but the decision to play in 2010 will apparently be based on how the ankle looks once it's fully healed. Favre had surgery on May 21, so he's currently 25 days into rehab.

LOL just like last season just different excuse. He wants to play just doesn't want to practice. He'll miracalously recover before season starts and after spring practice. Where's Tonya Harding when you need her. Pay her to put this old man to rest. lol

The Vikings "internally" believe that Brett Favre won't rejoin the team until their third preseason game.

Favre is expected to skip the entirety of training camp practices, the first two preseason games, and make his return official in the third quarter of the third exhibition. It's similar to how Favre conducted his 2009 comeback.

All this leads to Detroit winning the division for the first time since Barry Sanders. Yeah yeah i know but i can hope and dream can't i? lol

Even if Favre decides to play in 2010 my bold prediction is he dont last the whole season and winds up on IR, the dude is old in NFL terms how much more punishment can he withstand from the DL LB half his age.

Even though I hate Favre more than any other human being alive, I doubt the dude gets IR. He's made of steel! Plus he gets all that extra rest by never freaking practicing!
 
No way he has a season like he had last season... even if he comes back, they aren't the team of 2009.

"If I was a betting man, and I had to put money on it today, absolutely," Allen said. "I hope if the answer was no, he would have already had the wherewithal to tell us that he's not coming back so we could have done something in free agency." Tarvaris Jackson must appreciate that vote of confidence.

Agreed, Favre cares about himself and only himself when it comes to football. Not once has he given any team any clue on what he is doing until he is doing it. No kind of notice what so ever, so what makes J Allen think this time will be different? Think its more on hope than actually knowing. If the Viking organization would just come out and exempt Favre from practice then i think he would announce his intentions on coming back this season. He just doesnt want to practice.

Analysis: "Hell, I want to know," said Favre. "But I am not going to press it. If I do not play, it does not cost the Vikings a dime. They keep the $13 million. ... I do know when it's over, it's over. It's not like being a dentist or playing golf, I can't play football forever." Regardless of Favre's hedging, we fully expect him to play at least one more season.

The Favre saga started after the NFC Championship game and will likely continue though Training Camp. Favre retired and then un-retired in 2008, did the same in 2009, but this year is different considering Favre never announced his retirement. Analysis: If Favre returns, everyone on the Vikings roster gets a boost in Fantasy potential. However, if Favre doesnt come back, Minnesotas receivers will likely see a decline in production with Tavaris Jackson at the helm.
