Dolphin Receivers

First of all, it came out yesterday that a lot of the troubles he's had (in the red zone) aren't him throwing wild balls but deliberately throwing them away. They just look wild because he's putting more height and zip on the throwaways than most QBs do. Also, I don't give a flying f*ck about his effectiveness from a fantasy standpoint this year, I only care that he wins the Fins games. Which he will.

As soon as he achieves dual-position eligibility (QB, RB, maybe even WR) he becomes very valuable in leagues that award bonus points for unconventional TD's. I think I mentioned this before in one of the post-draft threads. If he's WR eligible, for example, and throws for a TD from the Wildcat, some leagues give extra points for that. I'd roster him as a WR3 in a heartbeat if that comes to fruition. ESPN Fantasy already has him listed as a WR, I think.

He will be less important to the Fins than he is to a fantasy owner if he can't throw. Read the last sentence closely.

  • -- Pat White Continues to be Inaccurate --

    Sun Jun 14, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • The Miami Herald reports for the second day in a row, Dolphins second round draft pick QB Pat White struggled with accuracy. In Saturday's afternoon practice, White overthrew 6-5 WR Patrick Turner and 6-4 WR Ernest Wilford on consecutive plays, and he later went over RB Patrick Cobbs' head on a short pass in the flat. In the morning practice, White throws hit the crossbar and the edge of the golf cart used by Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells. To be fair, as both plays were during red-zone drills, White could have been throwing the ball away. That is what he claimed he was doing Friday, when he fired one over the fence and onto the street.
------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not writing him off for ever, just stating that they want to win games They are not sitting there tryin to figure out a way to prove your wishes right. He won't play much until they feel he can aid them. Admit it....He has had a very rough camp.

  • -- Dolphins WR Competition --
    Mon Jun 15, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • The Sun Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Anthony Armstrong is pressing WR Brandon London for a roster spot. WR Ted Ginn Jr., WR Greg Camarillo, WR Davone Bess, WR Patrick Turner, and WR Brian Hartline appear to be the top five wide receivers. The sixth will likely come down to Armstrong (who is eligible for the practice squad again) and London, a top special teamer. Armstrong, who everyone says is the second fastest player on the team, behind Ginn, is closing the gap. All he needs is a special teams role. As for London, HC Tony Sparano warned he better know his lane. "[That's] a position right now where I know there will be some hard decisions to be made. Reps and opportunities are really the biggest challenge. The opportunities that you have to make plays you need to make these plays," Sparano said. For the record, London dropped a couple of passes that came his way this weekend. And believe me, very few passes came his way. Armstrong probably was second to Camarillo in terms of balls thrown per rep.

  • -- Pat White to Stay at QB for now --
    Sun Jun 21, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • Miami Dolphins second round draft pick QB Pat White has struggled so much with accuracy, that observers are wondering how long he will remain at quarterback according to PFW. White's poor accuracy couldn't have strayed further from the strong showings he gave in workouts leading up to the draft. Yet, the Dolphins are in no rush to plant him full time at receiver, the position most analysts and coaches believed would be his best NFL position during the scouting process. At least some of that is due to a Dolphins receiving corps that has been beefed up during the offseason. A position change could be coming, yet don't expect it to be any time soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------
A non - factor this season. This is the time they are blowing smoke up our but, and they can't do it in White's case. It's just been too poor of a showing..

-- Greg Camarillo Technically Sound --
Sat Jun 20, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports Dolphins WR Greg Camarillo proved that he is still the most technically sound receiver on the roster during minicamp.
------------------------------------------------
His return to good health is good news for Pennington, and the Dolphins.

Ronnie Brown Fit & Fast --
Mon Jun 22, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Palm Beach Post reports during the team's recent minicamp, Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown, who is heading into a contract year, looked fit, faster than ever and like he should be the team's featured back, instead of splitting carries again. Brown consistently beat the defense to the outside corner, split out wide and caught a long TD pass Saturday and handled most of the snaps out of the Wildcat. At 27, he looks poised for his best year yet.
--------------------------------------------
The main reason Pat White won't be a factor this season.

-- Ted Ginn Confident & Consistent --
Mon Jun 22, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Palm Beach Post reports Miami Dolphins WR Ted Ginn's confidence and consistency have been hard to ignore. Ginn made more plays than any wide receiver during minicamp practices, including a couple of long TD catches, and seemed to get open at will. Ginn's lack of impact in the return game remains a head-scratcher. He dropped at least one punt and bobbled some others

this is where these reports really tick me off. They also have published reports that they have no idea who they will put at Cb opposit Allen...so its no friggen wonder he is open at will. :nono:

Um, he's been doing it to everybody. Including Will Allen. And they have no idea who's going to start opposite Allen because everybody is getting a shot at the slot, so we won't know until a good way into camp.

Interesting take.

-- Michael Vick Could Wind Up with the Dolphins? --
Wed Jul 1, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Miami Herald reports former Vikings/Cardinals HC Dennis Green believes ex-Falcons QB Michael Vick will wind up with the Dolphins. “I have a hard time believing that QB Michael Vick is not going to wind up with Bill Parcells, simply because [Parcells] has that creativeness that says no matter what it takes, he's going to find a way to get Michael Vick. Now, whether it means convincing the commissioner or whatever it takes, Michael Vick is probably going to wind up at Miami because of the fact Bill Parcells is Bill Parcells.''

  • -- Fasano Like Witten --
    Mon Jul 13, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • MiamiDolphins.com's Andy Cohen believes Dolphins TE Anthony Fasano is in line for a big season and reminds Cohen of Cowboys TE Jason Witten.
I think Fasano could be a really sneaky round 16 pick as a #2TE, backing up an early TE selection.

I like Davone Bess this year as a sleeper. Ginn Jr. I'm not sold on just yet - but more information might turn me around.

Both will probably be undervalued in most conventional leagues this year, given the amount of passes they're likely to see.

I think I want whatever pills Cohen took when he wrote this garbage.
