Are the Skins looking to dump Haynesworth or not?

From rotoworld,

The Redskins are not shopping Albert Haynesworth and haven't had any trade discussions regarding him since March 31, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Former Redskins beat writer Jason LaCanfora reported yesterday that Haynesworth has made a poor impression with new coach Mike Shanahan and the Redskins remain willing to unload him. Doubting Schefter is never a good idea, but LaCanfora's report makes more sense. It's already been widely reported that the 'Skins tried to dump Haynesworth on the Eagles as part of the Donovan McNabb trade. Apr. 7 - 9:11 am et

I doubt Haynesworth will be with the Skins on opening weekend.

They are full of shit if they think they can trade him on a $100 million dollar contract. He would have to renegotiate that salary and I dont think hes willing to do it.

If they outright cut him, wouldnt they be on the hook for like $40 million?

What is this I hear that Detroit may have some interest??? If true, I am hoping it is for a greatly reduced price.

If true, I agree. The price has to be severely reduced. But I don't think any team will be looking to take on that monsterous contract. Even a re-negotiation can't bring the price down too far I would think.

my question is would the Lions fan base accept the 100 mil fat man while they struggle to put food on the table??

I would not accept the $100 million fat man! The Lions made a lot of good moves this offseason and I would hate for them to make a move at this fat man. Let the Skins keep him and drive their ticket prices up!

What are the advantages of taking him over Suh or McCoy? Granted the hopes that he can return to greatness is still a possibility but their potential, youth and coachability have to balance that out.

What is the cost comparison between a restructured contract and signing a #2 pick?

At this point I am hoping it is only speculation but since I have been happy with the Lions moves the past 2 years now I would hold off on making any determinations.

I hope it's speculation too Cooley. There's no advantage to taking him over paying #2 money to Suh or McCoy. I'd say the advantage is taking either guy with the #2 pick.

Are the Titan's actually offering a 3rd for Haynie? Read something about it would basically be trading the compensation pick they received for losing him last year and the money will be manageable - if so that makes sense but why wouldn't that work for everyone team as well??? Not sure how the reduced cost was calculated.

This makes sense. I guess the ball is in Fat Alberts court to see how bad he wants out. I think he will play for the skins this year, at about a half ass level.

They're such an easy target right now Derringer, sorry.

Its all good, being a Raider fan is tough sometimes

At $11.000.000 a season is to much, hasn't played a full season in the last few years and his overall stats are falling fast, his age is also becoming an issue
