The Vikes have one option if the Metrodome is unplayable, but it isn't a great one. They can play at the University of Minnesota's field if necessary. Its an outdoor facility that would need to be cleared and cleaned up.
The Vikings had a stadium deal in place in the Northern suburbs that would have included a strip mall, hotels and restaurants, but it fell through. If the team leaves the state, it will be through the legislature's inability to act on a stadium deal.
No real surprise. Chilly has been in the doghouse much of the season.
Frankly, I think the worst decision the team made was to let Chester Taylor leave. He was a great "back-up" for AP.
The Michigan State/Iowa game was in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes were playing for pride and to keep the season from being an embarrasment and played a very good game.
Its easier to replace one guy, rather than 53, though. I agree that the players aren't doing their jobs well this season. Maybe they have given up on the coaching staff????? Look what happened in Baltimore last baseball season when Showalter took over. The Orioles actually played well down...
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this is his last week of practice with the Vikes. Coach was on thin ice a couple of years ago also. Last season got him back in favor with Zigi, but this stunt.......
This is a sign, to me, that Brad Childress has lost control of his team. He doesn't listen to anyone, apparently, and the team owner is not pleased with this move.
Pretty soon it'll be time for him to say good bye. (Hello Tony Dungee?????)
What a shame. Cancer is an "equal opportunity" disease. It doesn't care what or who you are. Some people can survive the disease, others cannot.
Prayers and good thoughts to family and friends of this young man.
I just heard the Q&A with Randy Moss after the game. He's really grown up and matured. I like the way he is trying to fit with the Vikes. They should be OK if the defense holds up.
