Who would have thought???

At the beginning of the 2008 NFL season who would have ever thought these things would happen:

The Arizona Cardinals would be in the Super Bowl?
*
An 11-5 team would not make the playoffs?
*
An 8-8 team would make the playoffs?
*
The Miami Dolphins would win the AFC East?
*
My Packers would finish 6-10 and had nothing to do with the QB change?
*
The New York Giants would not make it to their conference championship?
*
A leading Wide Receiver would have a "hunting accident" in a bar?
*
The Detroit Lions would go 0-16?
*
Mike Shanahan would no longer be coach of the Broncos?
*
Al Davis was still allowed to be Al Davis, but even more so?
*
The NFC South would be the most dominant division in the NFL?
*
The NFC North would go 25-39?
*
The New England Patriots wouldn't make the playoffs?
*
The Atlanta Falcons would go 11-5?
*
I've got a few more but these I thought were the most remarkable.

:twister:What a Year!!

This was a crazy year! Made it a hell of a lot of fun to follow, you just never knew what was going to happen from week to week. The unthinkable happened, the undreamable, was reality, everything we though....hell no, not going to happen, is EXACTLY what happened.

That is why Sunday night could be very interesting. The Cards don't have a shot right? No way they defeat the Steelers who have walked through what equated to the gates of hell from an NFL schedule standpoint, and are still standing. One of the most historic franchises of all time, against one of the poorest franchises of all time. As Ram stated, this one should be over at half time right? On paper, that is a what any reasonable person would determine.....and it's exactly why it won't be! In what has been one of the wackiest years ever, having the Steelers end up the champ would be kinda viewed as a let down....order being restored per say. This season has not been about order and tradition. It's been about havoc and the unexpected. NFL order can be restored next year, but this is the year of the wild, crazy, and unthinkable. To have a Super Bowl Champion that is anything but that would just not fit.

The Arizona Cardinals will win Super Bowl XLIII! Why you ask? Just look at the first thread, it really would be the perfect ending.

We'll also have to add:

Who would have thought a 250 lb. linebacker would be responsible for the longest play of the game and the longest in the history of all Super Bowls?
