What WR's will start for the Bears?

Here's another lil' something to back Chris up a bit.

rotoworld,

According to the Chicago Sun Times, new Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz "has big plans for Devin Hester."

Hester is reportedly learning to line up all over the field, making "the challenge for defenses ... to find him and account for him." At least one of the Bears' receivers is almost certainly going to finish among the top-20 fantasy wideouts. Starters Hester and Johnny Knox's values are on the rise.

Overall the Bears passing game will be greatly improved and the running game will be slightly improved. The kicker is that not a single player except Cutler increases in value for FF and no one except Cutler is an FF starter.

4 wrs + Olsen will share the receptions and I expect no one will exceed 850 yds. Devin A, Devin H, Knox and Bennett will all be between 40-60 catches and Olsen is good for 60 as well. Between Forte and Taylor, that is another 80. These 7 players estimate out at 330 catches. last year Cutler completed 336.

Last year's receptions:

Forte 57
Hester 57
Olsen 60
Bennett 54
Knox 45
Other 67

Forte will be a good 3rd RB with upside. As of now, Hester and Knox have the inside track on the most targets, but this could change to DA just as easily.

Martz has said quite a few times already that he needs to be able to block!!! LOL! Since when has blocking anyone been a part of any Martz scheme.

Martz had better change his plans to fit the personel, because the greatest show on turf would not work with the Bears offence. The line is still sub par and can't protect an all pass system. They need balance and to use the RBs and Olsen with screens in order to free up the long ones.

Lovie needs to put his foot down. Hiring your old buddies in a make or break year could be a disaster.

...and you gotta know Martz is after his job.

Martz does not change his ways or his system due to players. Take a look at his past. He almost buried Vernon Davis in SF, and look what happened last year when a OC knew how to use him.

Olsen blew it by not forcing a trade. IMO.

nfl.com,

If you're targeting Devin Hester in Fantasy drafts, buckle up: New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz likes what the speedy receiver has to offer so much that he's already anointed him as a starter. Hester lined up as such during the team's May minicamp, a sign that he's understanding what Martz's playbook is telling him. "He's our starter," Martz told the Daily Herald. "I think he's an elite wide receiver. There's no question about that. We've got all kinds of new things for him. We're moving him all over. You'll see him line up anywhere. Shoot, he might line up as a tight end occasionally. Who knows? We'll see."
Analysis: We doubt we'll see Hester at tight end (we should hope not given Martz's dislike of tight ends as receivers), but we do think we'll see Hester continue to prove that he's a rising receiving talent.

rotoworld,
Earl Bennett is projected as the Bears' No. 4 receiver this season.

Devin Hester and Johnny Knox are the starters right now, with Devin Aromashodu right behind them. Bennett is a little behind the eight ball thanks to a minor knee procedure, but we don't think he'll be able to crack the top three spots even when healthy.

Earl Bennett (arthroscopic knee surgery) returned to team drills on Wednesday.

Bennett ran his routes at full speed, showing no ill effects from the offseason procedure. Expected to be the Bears' No. 4 receiver this year, he won't be worthy of a draft pick in standard fantasy leagues.

rotoworld,
Devin Hester and Johnny Knox have been working as the Bears' first-team wideouts during OTAs.

The second-team wideouts have been Earl Bennett and Devin Aromashodu. The battle between Knox and Aromashodu for the starting split end job is extremely interesting for fantasy purposes. Both will see plenty of snaps due to Mike Martz's multiple receiver sets, but whoever wins the starting gig will have a leg up to start the season.

Here's cbssports.com spin on the above story.

The Bears have been using Devin Hester and Johnny Knox as their starting receivers this offseason. Knox was a Pro Bowl kick returner, but the significance of being a starting WR now isn't lost on him. "It's a big opportunity, me going with the ones," he said. "But if I was 1, 2 or 3, I'm going to still try to take the same approach whether I'm starting or not." Knox is trying to hold off Devin Aromashodu and Earl Bennett for the starting spot, but the Bears will likely rotate all four receivers in Mike Martz's offense.

Analysis: Knox has plenty of sleeper potential if he can remain a starting option. All the Bears receivers are in line for a boost this year with the addition of Martz. Go into the season with Knox as a No. 4 Fantasy WR, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues. But don't be surprised if Knox is in your starting lineup for a couple of weeks during the season if he starts out playing well.

rotoworld,
In a radio interview Wednesday, Jay Cutler named Devin Aromashodu first when asked which Bears receiver is ready for a breakout year.

"He is having another great camp," said Cutler. Aromashodu is working as a third receiver at offseason workouts, but third receivers in Mike Martz's offenses have the ability to outproduce starters (e.g. Mike Furrey, 2006). With Cutler also a big backer of his, Aromashodu is worth mid-round consideration in fantasy drafts despite all the praise heaped on Devin Hester.

Chicago Bears WR Johnny Knox is entrenched as one of the team's starting wide receivers after performing well during offseason workouts, according to ESPNChicago.com's Jeff Dickerson.
