What to do, if you don't have a QB

We can agree to disagree.
Actually the O-line was dominant in Seattle when Russell started, it has deteriorated post that first year.
No Phic. Seattle hasn't had a dominant O-line since TR let Hutch go. Okung and Unger were an improvement but they were still a couple pieces short

Quote:
In quarterback Russell Wilson’s five seasons, the Seahawks ranked last in pressure percentage allowed in all but one year. Wilson has been sacked 205 times since 2012, which is the 2nd-most in the NFL

That was 2015, where they were 31st

huh. Could have sworn their O-line was really good in his first year. Might just have been him making them look good.

Okay, its time to revisit this.....

AFC
AFC East:
New England
- well you have God if you believe all the hype ;) with Brady. More importantly you have his heir apparent in Garoppolo, and by all rumors the Pats intend to sit on him.
Miami - this one is really fuzzy. You have Tannehill as the starter, but his knee is a question.
Buffalo - ???? - Some reports have them keeping Tyrod Taylor, others say he is too expensive, and they will cut bait and move on. Only other Qb on roster now post FA will be former THE Ohio State Qb Cardale Jones.
New York Jets - Yikes!! - Fitz will be gone, Geno will be gone, that leaves Hackenberg who didn't even rate a end of season try out and Petty.
yup, NE stayed put, and for now are keeping Garopolo.
Miami is okay with Tannehill, but will they take a flyer later in this draft?
Buffalo got smart and re-did deal with Tyrod.
Jets went for vet depth snagging McCown. So who starts? Do they draft another? I actually see some having them go Qb in first round again...Yikes.

AFC North:
Pittsburgh
- you got Roethlisberger. But he is hinting at retirement soon so....
Cincinnati - you have Andy Dalton, with McCarron as back up, who may be a target, but Cincy wants to keep.
Baltimore - you have Flacco but his contract is due soon, and what has he done lately?
Cleveland - Yuck. McCown is gone. Not sure what to do with RGIII, Kessler is there but ......
Roeth is still active, but they are seriously going to have to address the future, he is talking retirement.
Bengals are set, and have no plans to trade McCarron
Flacco by default, but who is the future?
Looks like this will be Kessler or Osweiller or Hogan. Look for a QB to be taken at 1.12 or early 2nd round.

AFC South:
Houston
- Wow, they have Osweiler.....sigh, Tom Savage as well, and both will compete
Indianapolis - so is Luck all that? He came back to a team with little to no OL, and an aged Rb. Wr's dropped like flies during the season as well due to injuries.
Jacksonville - Bortles got the HC fired, and his former OC is now taking over. I think this will be a run heavy offense though.
Tennessee - Mariota did very well in his sophmore year. Has a great run game to rely on , and a solid TE. Desperately needs help at Wr though.
Houston is screwed. Romo is retired, Savage is at best a bridge and the back up is Weeden. Draft Qb early this year? Cutler or Kaep?
Indy - its all Luck.
Jags - Bortles has some support, but if they take a Qb early he will be only a one year bridge.
Tenn. - Mariota just needs a few more tools.

AFC West:
Denver
- by all reports they are standing pat with Sieman and Paxton Lynch. Is it Lynching time ;)
KC - A.Smith is the man, but Romo may be also if you believe rumors.
Sa...oops, LA Chargers - Rivers is still slinging it.
Oakland - Carr just looks the part, and McGloin may be trade bait for someone, with Cook on the bench.
Denver - staying with Sieman and Lynch.
KC - Still A.Smith - but I think they draft for future this year.
LA Chargers - Rivers is set, but I see them also looking at Qb early.
Oakland - set with Carr and Cook.

Now lets see what NFC has to offer -
NFC East:
Dallas
- Dak is the man now, will Romo stay or go?
Washington - just slapped tag on Cousins again, but do they really want him? Strong rumors of going to San Fran in trade.
N.Y.Giants - Eli is still there, but he is only getting older
Philadelphia - Wentz is the now and the future in Philly.
Dallas - its all Dak now, Romo is gone
Washington - retagged Cousins, and are screwed next year as he won't resign with them and they can't afford to tag a third time. What a mess.
Giants - Eli can't play forever...but hey they got Geno now.....ewwww
Eagles - Wentz to start and Foles to back up, not bad.

NFC North:
Green Bay
- Rodgers it is
Minnesota - Bradford is locked as starter, they still have Bridgewater but he may not be back due to injury ore even be what he was.
Detroit - Stafford is the man,but his deal is almost up.
Chicago - by all reports they will cut ties with Cutler,Barkley is there(never thought that would be said...) and not much else.
GB - Still Rodgers show
Minny - Bradford is locked in, Bridgewater is still an unknown. If they draft a Qb, look for Bridgewater to be let go.
Lions - Stafford is due for a huge deal, so look for future here.
Bears - went out and signed a short term fix in Glennon, with Sanchez as back up. Betting a Qb gets taken here at some point.

NFC South:
Tampa Bay
- He has a big mouth, but Winston is solid, question is what happens with Glennon.
New Orleans - Brees is still there, but his time is almost up
Carolina - Newton is the man
Atlanta - M.Ryan is back!
TB - lost Glennon, so who is back up?
Saints - Still have Brees, this year! Went and got Chase Daniel to back up. Again, they will draft Qb early here I bet, they have to plan for Brees leaving
Carolina - Newton is superman....with a bum shoulder.....yikes. Anderson still the back up.
Atlanta - Ryan and Schaub - solidish.

NFC West:
Seattle
- Wilson makes this easy
Arizona - Palmer is returning, but how much does he have left?
L.A.Rams - Goff or bust? - leaning Bust?
San Francisco - by all reports Kaepernick has opted out, Gabbert again??
Seattle - Wilson is it, but back up Boykin may be out due to off field issues.
Arizona - Palmer is coming back, but they have to plan for long term here.
Rams - Goff or bust - love the O-line work though.
SF - Going with Hoyer and Barkley for the now, and look for a QB draft? OR....will they snipe Cousins next year??

Options left:
Cutler to me is a huge surprise he is still out there. He is best FA still unsigned.
Kaepernick - in an offense where they need a mobile QB, he could still be talented enough to help.
Fitzgerald - some reports he may be retiring.
Nothing really else left.

By all reports so far in draft the top few are:
1) Mitch Trubisky UNC - but only has 13 college starts, but has all the metrics
2a) Deshaun Watson Clemson - wins big games, but so so stats
2b) Deshone Kizer Notre Dame - great tools, but very inaccurate.
3) Maholm is really climbing the charts.

Net, this was an early season band aid fest for some teams, so I think there will be alot of trading in draft to move up to snag one of the top 4 Qbs in this draft for some teams.

Anyone else not really buying that the Patriots really want to keep Garoppolo for 2017 and let him walk for nothing next year? I'm not. I'm guessing they are standing firm with that line so they can get as much as possible for him. I think Cleveland or San Francisco will get desperate and make a huge offer for him.

Either that or this will be Brady and Belichick's last season and JG is really going to take over in NE and will sign an extension during the season.

per latest report the won't deal Garoppolo. Not this year, they will worry about 2018 when they have to, but they want him for Brady protection this year.
