What is your opinion of the Pro Bowl taking place prior to the Super Bowl?

The NFL Pro Bowl has been played after the Championship of the League or Super Bowl every year since 1951.
The first Pro Bowls occurred prior to WWII starting in 1938 and ending with the start of the war in 1942.

To me, at first it looks like a cool deal.
But then, their are some obvious advantages of a free pass the two teams who make it to the Super Bowl get.

No longer is an excuse required to miss the Pro Bowl.
However, these two teams must play a full on, all-out contest in the Super Bowl and risk losing multiple players for the beginning of the next season.

Is it even worth talking about?
Can the NFL make the Pro Bowl as competitive as MLB's All Star game?
Should old ladies wear those giant blinder sunglasses while employing a two-ton vehicle?
Is it time to switch to decaf?

I vote no on the old ladies and yes to decaf  But I like your question, I posted something like this last year. I know quite a bit of history on this subject myself. Let me look up what I wrote and i'll get it back here.

2 Things 1) WW2 started in Sept, 1939 NOT 1942. 2) I prefer the PB to be the week after SB. (then you are only missing the players from the SB, not the players from both Conf Champ games)

ww2 started on 7 dec 1941 for the USA. so, it's almost 1942, but thanks for pointing that out AD.

i'm just wondering if it's fair that the two best teams don't have to risk any players in the pro bowl under this format.

Or is it Four teams?

Never really got inot the pro bowl. They're already professionals so whats the pro bowl title for? Personally i like the senior bowl in college. Kinda get a sneak peek at the seniors bidding for the NFL all on 1 field.

In October of 1988 I moved with my family from Japan to Hawaii.
Instead of going to the Pro Bowl in 89 I got on a C-141 the day before, destination Osan AB, South Korea.

In the three years I lived in Hawaii I never went to the Pro Bowl.
Twice because I was on the DMZ and once because of Desert Storm.

I didn't start this thread to say that.
I just wonder if it's fair that not all 32 teams have to risk their best players in this game now.

And is it fair to the fans, god-forbid they ever get to go to a Pro Bowl, that the players from the two best teams won't be there?

I have no interset in the game other than hoping no one gets injured.
my point entirely Mudlogger.

do you think it's fair two teams won't be worried?

on a side note -
At the beginning of this thread I brought up WWII not entirely realizing why. the Pro Bowl is played where WWII started for us.

the pro bowl is pretty brutal... but you gotta do somethin for the exceptional players. and from nfl standpoint, every other major sport gets to sell their all star game...

One of them should tweet "I taught I taw a puddy tat"

dude, holy crap!

Fans should be allowed to tweet plays once in a while, or, "This offensive and defensive series is brought to you by Verizon Wireless".

where fans win a contest and play OC/DC for part of the contest.
