Week 2 Conundrums: TE's, Santonio Holmes, W/R

Hi all,

Im new to FF and have a few Week 2 questions.
I'm in a standard scoring league. My current roster is listed below my questions.

Any insights are greatly appreciated.

1. I don't like any of my tight ends (I know, why do I even have two tight ends)
I'm starting Lance Kedricks (StL) @NYG and have Chris Cooley (Was) @Ari on my bench.

So...I'm strongly considering dropping Cooley and benching Kendricks. Which TE looks like the best starter Week 2 over Kendricks:
Fred Davis - Was @ Ari
Jermaine Gresham -(Cin) @ Den
Ed Dickson - (Bal) @ Ten

2. I'm skittish about Santonio Holmes, as his quad/knee troubles make him a GTD
Do I dare start Steve Smith (Car) @GB instead?

3. Not panicking yet, but have a feeling LaGarrette Blount is not going to be productive and he's taking up valuable space at the flex position. Does moving LaDainian Tomlinson @ Jac (who I have on my bench) into that flex position warrant consideration. LT seems like he still has some productivity as a pass receiver. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Fred Davis looked really good last week but who knows how things will look this week. I would ride with him this week though. He looks in such better shape this year and improved greatly. I would definitely start smith. Carolina will be playing catch up the whole game and they will be looking to air it out to him. Last week was kind of a fluke (imo) but he still should be a safe bet to start over Holmes. I would keep Blount in even as disappointing as he was last week.

I like Kendricks long term although he may not be a great start right now. Last week Bradford got banged around and Amedola got hurt so the was a bit of passing game Chaos going on. Kendricks will come around later. Dropping Cooley is OK he has been a little slow recovering from an off-season injury.

All three TE below are great pickups and plays this week.

So...I'm strongly considering dropping Cooley and benching Kendricks. Which TE looks like the best starter Week 2 over Kendricks:
Fred Davis - Was @ Ari Great play this week....long term, looks to be the better TE in Washington right now but Cooley may cut into his action later on.
Jermaine Gresham -(Cin) @ Den great play this week and good long term pickup.
Ed Dickson - (Bal) @ Ten great play this week and should be a decent long term pickup

2. I'm skittish about Santonio Holmes, as his quad/knee troubles make him a GTD
Do I dare start Steve Smith (Car) @GB instead? Watch Holmes even if he plays he may not be full tilt.... Steve Smith is a nice alternative and I would use him. The Panthers will have a much tougher game against the champs but the Panthers coaching staff said this week that Steve Smith will be the first read on every passing play

Thoughts? It is good you are not panicing and like in the post above I would probably leave Blount in the flex although I would be very comfortable with LT. If Blount failed twice in a row....... then it is time to panick.... use LT from then on as Bount would fall from the just one bad game category into the category of having to prove it first.

Thanks!

:)

Hey Sgt John! Thanks for the info and the encouragement. I'm an Ohioan but been a Cowboy fan my whole life. All the way back to Roger Staubach, Lee Roy Jordan days.

Blount will improve and this could very well be the week! As far as your TEs are concerned drop Cooley and pick up anybody else. Kendricks is an OK start this week but I would start Gresham as the best option you provided.
There is no way Im starting Smith this week against GB. 1 week in week one against Arizona doesnt mean anything if you wouldnt start him against one of the worst Defenses why would you start him against one of the best???

Smith has shown in the past that he can produce even when defenses pay extra attention to him. If Delhomme could get him the ball Cam will be able to also.

Smith definitely looks like philberts best option, though I will say that Newton will discover gravity against Green Bay and come back down to earth this week.

Hey Fire! I'd tend to agree especially given that CB Tramon Wililams is inactive. You can bet they'll be going at his replacement, as long as Cam can elude Matthews. I know, some big "ifs" :)

Yeah having Steve Smith and Fred Davis right now would be a nice upgrade to most teams. Cooley is dispensable. Kendricks is a great dynasty guy but not sure how valuable he is in a redraft with guys like Evan Moore catching TD's already, but if you have Fred Davis on your wire then it sounds like there could be a ton of talent to be had at most positions. Take a look and make sure you're not missing someone. Holmes in my mind is a great WR3 with WR2 upside if the Jets continue to throw the ball.
