I keep reading that QB Sage Rosenfels is the odd man out making Tarvaris Jackson the #1 QB if Favre decides to hang up his cleats.

T.Jackson's history has shown he's not the one to lead the Vikes anywhere.

Hate to say that if Favre dont play this season, i see the Vikes missing the playoffs.

I've heard Vikings fans say that Jackson is a different man behind the wheel after seeing Farve in action last year. Not only from a leadership position but from a how-to-score-big-points position too and the utilization of Rice & Co.

I'd have to see that to believe it.

I had questioned that too, Rachelle, in that Tavaris Jackson, unlike Sage, improved behind Favre, instead of just remaining the same. Now that Rice, Harvin and Shaincoe are out of the bag as bigtime threats, I could see tavaris athleticisim working with them to win games. However, the question of if he'll lead them to the playoffs, is still a no, IMO.

Regarding playoffs.... I completely agree. They'll be back on the party bus before entering the playoff arena this year.

Favre doesn't play this year and GB will win division. And this will give Detroit a better opportunity to get those 8 wins.

I agree. Tavaris Jackson seems to be a guy that is a perpetual prospect. He has the skills, on paper, to do the job, but he hasn't shown it on the field.

Viking did make the playoffs the season before Favre so don't be so quick to write them off. :homer:

Rookie QB Joe Webb drafted in the 6th round out of UAB and has been making a little noise early on practicing with the second team.

2009 college stats: 271-att 162-comp 59.8-pct 2299-yds 21-tds 8-int

Rushing stats:227-att 1427-yds 6.3-ypc 11-tds

Looks like the Vikes could use J.Webb in a wildcat or convert him to a RB.
