Vick Signs With The Eagles.

At least he went to a town that's traditionally forgiving of its athletes.. or.. Not. LOL

Ok, this actually makes perfect sense. Built in mentor with McNabb, and he provides the potential to slide in if the standard nagging injuries kick in with Donovan. Aside from being a backup QB and possible gimmick-play threat, who else does this affect positively or negatively aside from Vick himself? (from a fantasy perspective)

Any truth to the rumor that this union came about because Vick and Reid's sons use the same weed man?

Read somewhere that he was banged up - don't remember the details now but the article said he was expected back in short order.

Maybe his wrist??? Can't remember where I read it (was online) or the details as I was just glossing over it. The article was about the Vick pick up.

Updating a previous report, Les Bowen and Bob Cooney, of the Philadelphia Daily News, report Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb (knee) is considered day-to-day with a sprained medial collateral ligament. He will not play in the team's first preseason game.

Supposedly, this signing is so Reid can utilize the wildcat offense (per the radio broadcast of the Eagles game tonight).

As soon as they announced this signing, I started laughing just thinking about the way the media is going to hammer McNabb with questions about possible QB controversy.

McNabb is the commander in chief of the Philly offense.

That said, this just provides even more Westy injury insurance.

Honestly, I got a bad, bad feeling here.

Philly MO is to take players in draft or acquire players when they are ready to cut ties with existing leaders on the team. Example is when they drafted both Lito Sheppard and Brown at CB, and let Troy Vincent walk.

Something tells me this is a move to try and bring in a "name" player when they are ready to cut ties soon with another. Not sure if the other is McNabb or Westbrook, and I don't think it will be this year. This is not a simple offense to learn...and to expect Vick to suppy much at all this year is asking alot.

Still, I am suddenly very nervous for next year........

i see where you're coming from... but it wouldn't surprise me if they'd cut ties with one of those guys next year regardless

vick could be a good addition to the team, depending on how they use him. also, mcnabb has come out saying he pushed for vick, so there don't seem to be any hard feelings.

i think kolb is the one who might suffer the most from this. he hasn't lived up to his billing so far in my eyes, and now injured...

I think this is a good signing for Philly. Just watch how carefully they script Vicks manlove for McNabb, and how Mcnabb is the role model he needed!
