Trade Chris Johnson for 6th pick?

I draft Sep.3 a guy in my league said he will trade me his 6th pick in the first round for my keeper of this year C.J. That would mean i would have the 6th pick and 7-12 pick 1st . Top six teams from last year pick cards for last season. I would have 2 first rounders. Good or bad deal for me.

Yeah id like to see the other keepers and have an idea of what is truly available at that spot. IF you keep 5 players then you would be trading CJ for what techincally would be a mid 5th round pick, and that wont fly in any format.

We only get one keeper and that would chris johnson but i would be trading it to that guy for his 6th pick first round. The following year i would have to keep someone else. To clear things up i would have a pick between 7-12 not all of the picks. I forgot to mention should i keep charles instead and just have my first round pick and not do this trade.

So everyone keeps one player. If you accept the trade you won't have a keeper but you would have the 6th pick and a pick between 7-12. If you don't accept the trade you would have CJ and a pick between 6-12. Correct?

Charles or CJ2K?????

At that point youd still be trading a Top 5 back for a middle of the second round pick. I say no.

Or like i said i can keep charles for myself on who has done nothing in preseason and just have my first round pick between 7-12. Sgt john i would have the 6th pick in round one not 2. I would have 2 first rounders. My guess meddy or turner will be around there.

CJ & the Titans as i understand it are not close to resolve the contract talks, IMO you might want to take this into consideration with your decision.

I think what Sarge meant is that since every one keeps 1 player your 1st rnd pick is equivalent to a 2nd rnd pick.

If you made the trade, could you then declare charles as your keeper and still keep your 2 1st picks?

I don't do it. You're saying that you would trade away CJ or Charles (a 1-4 pick), for a 6 and 7-12 pick. Not worth it, IMO. Keep CJ or Charles, take your pick at 7-12.

I agree with the above math that says you are losing value in the deal.

BUT.....from an intestinal point of view, I'd make the deal.

I have no faith in either CJ or Charles to duplicate last years numbers and there will be a lot of meat to chew on in the first round of a 1 keeper league.

Might not be RBs but there will be some A+ players to choose from.

Then who would you keep then charles or c.j. who is holding out for who knows for how long. If he signs this week would you keep him.

So you can't trade Charles and keep CJ or vice versa, trade CJ and keep Charles? If you can make the other one your keeper I would try and trade one off for an extra pick.

Have you already declared CJ your keeper? Or can you trade either CJ or Charles for a pick and make the other your keeper?
