This will be controversial But Tom is the 4th best QB at best right now.

Patriots | Tom Brady voted No. 1 player in NFL Mon Jul 4, 09:47 AM New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was voted by his fellow NFL players as the top player in NFL Network's top 100 series.
Our view: No surprise here. Brady's won three Super Bowl championships and is a first ballot Hall of Famer when he's eligible.

I have no problem with Brady getting the award and it's a much deserved honor to be recognized by ones peers.

Congratulations TOM!

...but RC is right. I'm not sure who RC has ahead of him in this years season but I can think of many I would like to own ahead of him. Rogers, Rivers, Ryan to name a few and the list gets longer if I'm in a keeper or dynasty league.

I think Brady will be a solid start again this year but I don't look for him to break the top 5 in fantasy points.

Brees and Manning are also nearing the end of their heyday so Tom is in good company.

Rodgers, Manning , Brees, and you are right with throwing Rivers in there!

Edited to say that I was not confusing NFL worth with Fantasy worth.

Been meaning to get back to this... do you mean 4th best in FF or NFL?

I think Rodgers, Manning, and Brees are better NFL Qb's right now.

Their NFL piers would say you are wrong. And with all due respect to your homerism Rodgers does not belong in the top 3 (yet).

If I need to win one game, I'm still taking Manning or Brady over any other QB.

Peyton and Brady are at the top tied. Rodgers is a close second. Brady Quinn is a very close third. Rivers and Bress are tied for forth.

Take a look at Manning's #'s last year 4700 yds 33/17 in what was arguably his worst (not fantasy wise, but the Colts O in general) in the last 4-5 seasons. This with a god awful o-line and no running game makes him my #1. The Colts addressed the offensive line big time in the draft which will help everyone on that team. Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Rivers in that order round out my top 5.

Interesting that the general consensus in this thread is that Michael Vick isn't a top 5 field general.

HA!

You noticed that too?

It's cuz he's NOT a quarterback he's a sideshow.

He has a lot more fantasy value than he does NFL value. Most NFL teams don't depend on their QB for rushing yards and rushing TDs.

...be a great College QB, though.

Sure I'm a NE homer but honestly as good as Rodgers is IMHO there's a bit of the "flavor of the month" going on with him and his SB win. Three years ago Rapistberger would have been in this conversation after winning his 2nd SB. Heck until Brees won his he was considered 2nd tier compared to Manning/Brady. After another team wins the SB this season Rodgers will fall back to 3rd/4th.
