Really interested to see what he can do at the next level. I have a feeling he is not going to time well, but the kid is a bull. Kind of reminds me of a young Jerome Bettis the way he runs.

He's almost a carbon copy of Shonn Greene when he came out last season. Similar statistical production, similar measurables.. Maybe Gerhart is a bit more athletic whereas Greene has a power edge?
Unless he just destroys the Combine, I'll concur with the late 2nd projection for now, which puts him squarely in San Diego's wheelhouse to grab a taylor-made sidekick for Sproles. Just like Greene will be with Leon Washington in NY. Toby can even throw a TD every now and again (Notre Dame game) like LT.
At that area he also makes great sense for New England, since they have multiple picks in the first 2 rounds.

There is one thing that Gerhart failed to do at the college level, care to guess what that was? (this is a positive thing that he didn't do)

Going to be watching a ton of his videos over the next month or so, but he could put on a clinic regarding how to secure the football.

I dont think so. In Houston and some of these other locales youre asking him to be a bull, and NOT be a feature back, just part of team.

Maybe a better Mike Alstott?

I don't think color will be an issue in regards to his draft position.

The issue will be his 40 time. If he can clock under a 4.5, he possibly goes in the 1st round, no later than early 2nd. If the number is 4.5 or slower, he likely drops to the 3rd round, and a smart GM that is not obsessed with 40 times would be wise to jump up and get this guy if he starts falling.

he is a big guy, but he has vision, and can follow his blockers. He is Brandon Jacobs with more talent. He looks like the modern NFL era of John Riggins in the making.

I would love to see this guy paired up with Felix Jones in the Dallas backfield.

in fairness, as probably the only Stanford fan you'll know, so watched every game, Gerhart did fumble a couple of times, but did not lose a fumble (I saw him fumble, weird that his stats at ESPN say he didn't). Struggled a bit in catching the ball out of the backfield. Won't find a more higher character guy, so he's definitely NFL friendly. Hate when I hear the comparisons to Tommy Vardell. Vardell didn't have multiple 200-yard rushing games. All-time leading rusher in California H.S. history. I would love to see Toby be successful at the next level, and I like the idea of him being another John Riggins, and for anyone that thinks he's slow, he had a number of long touchdown runs this year. His knee will definitely come under scrutiny, and he will take a lot of hard hits at the NFL level. RB's sure seem like maybe the thinnest position in this year's draft (maybe only WR's thinner). Gerhardt would make a nice fit as a one-cut power back in an Alex Gibbs system in Seattle. Knowing the way AJ Smith likes high character white backs (see Jacob Hester), wouldn't be shocked to see San Diego keep him on the West Coast too.

Averaged 200.3 yards rushing against ranked opponents this year.

What's your definition of thin?! I would put 500k v-bucks down on WR being the most drafted position in the first two rounds this year, because I see half a dozen receivers that are easily first day material. I can't really say the same for any other position.

Um, the Chargers run Air Coryell. That hasn't changed from when Cameron was their OC.
