TO speaks out on Vick's suspension

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Terrell Owens wants Michael Vick to be reinstated immediately by the NFL, and said any extension of the quarterback's suspension would be similar to "kicking a dead horse."

"I think he's done the time for what he's done. I don't think it's really fair for him to be suspended four more games," Owens said, referring to reports that the NFL is considering to further punish Vick. "It's almost like kicking a dead horse in the ground. ... The guy's already suffered so much. And to add a four-game suspension on a two-year prison sentence, that's ridiculous."

TO really needs to learn when to stay quiet.....agree or disagree, I think staying out of this one is the correct play.

I disagree.

Terrell Owens didn't call a press conference here.

Don't ask a man about something and not expect an answer, and don't condemn a man for answering something that is asked. I want players to be upfront with their opinions on things.

I'm not buying that anymore Mike

As soon as he see someone elses name in the media he has to say/do something. He has the maturity of an attention seeking 2 year old

I disagree, somethings are just better off left unsaid....as a mature adult it's up to you to know what to say and not to say......this has nothing to do with him and is a very emotional situation.....just better off staying out of it.

Better off for who?

Why should you avoid giving your opinion on something?

If he says nothing, people are blasting him for that as well.

The man has an opinion on the issue, and when asked, is giving it. This has been his way of doing things for as long as I know. Why should he go silent in this topic? What is so special about this topic that he has to stay silent?

no if he does what everyone else has done when asked about it it would be a non story....you think TO is the only person asked about this?? NO, he's just the only one who took the media bait.

We can agree to disagree.....It's not a huge deal IMO, but IMO this isn't TO having something to say, this is TO knowing this is another way into the spot light.....he wants us to talk about him, so I'm talking about him! :nannie:

LOL, I would rather when people are asked, to speak their honest opinion.

Does it make a person better if they choose to not be upfront an honest? I would rather these people speak their opinions. If they all did so, maybe less people would be doing stupid things.

1 thing you will never here TO say to a reporter

"You know there are 50 other guys on this team. Why don't you ask 1 of them ?"

He will allways say/do whatever it takes to be the centre of attention

If you are questioning his sincerity I agree with you it is all about him. I still see no problem with him paying lip service to making a statement on the behalf of someone else, especially if you are correct and everyone else is avoiding taking a stance.

I am by no stretch of the imagination a TO fan but it is a valid opinion.

Are you saying because of who he is no good can come from it or is it no good from the position he takes?
I'm not saying it's not a valid opinion, I have no issue with the opinion, i'd say there are many who feel the same way. But with his past, why set yourself for the negative reaction, just get ready for the season and play football. So to answer your question:

because of who he is no good can come from it

Everyday, players are asked their opinions about something, and they skate around it. I do not respect that.

When someone asks you as question, answer it.

If it is a valid opinion and everyone else is shying away from it for whatever reason - Doesn't him airing it out for public consumption accomplish something worthwhile even if he doesn't really care?

That is a question that should have been refered to the Union Rep. No individual has the rite to speak for the union without authorization

I do not believe the union has exclusive rights to stating opinions for its members. From what I read Owen's was not talking on behalf of the union but recruiting support for Vick from other high profile players AND the players union.

But what good is coming from it, were not talking about the opinion, again, everyone is talking about TO.....

What's sad is that I agree with T.O.'s position here, but at this point, the minute he opens his mouth he is hurting the cause he is speaking out on.

Do your friend Michael Vick a REAL favor, Terrell, and SHUT UP.

The more people associate Vick with YOU then the less likely Vick is of catching a break.

Sorry, Disciplanary issues are a union issue. If you have something to say you say it to the rep, at a union meeting, or in private to other members. You do not speak against your union to the media. If you do not like the stand your union is taking you drum up support and run for office.

He is sooo far out of line on this its not funny. He is always throwing someone under the bus to get the headlines
