Tim Tebow : In the... playoffs!?!?!?

Tim Tebow, we have had a great Tebow discussion thread going but maybe it's time to have a tread that is just based on this weeks Playoff game. Tebow and the O put in a disappointing show at KC as the O only came up with 3 points the entire game, but the Broncos got to back into the Playoffs. The basic assumption right now is that Tebow will be put under a microscope, maybe unfairly, and that his viability going forward may be based on his performance this game. Based on that assumption, just how good does Tebow have to play in this game? Does a low scoring game that is close help him? If the Steelers start to put up some points on the scoreboard, does Tebow have to match the output and keep it close?

Tebow isn't the only QB who left an encounter with KC leaving a lot to be desired this season.

What's the line here anyway?

It seems as though the formula for checking Tebow has been found and was pretty obvious from the start.....keep him bottled in the pocket, apply even a modicum of pressure......this simple approach ensures the Tebow is mitigated.

Well its already been said here, Denver backed into the playoffs losing 3 straight and in those 3 loses the defenses did just as said, contained Tebow. And now he has to face a defensive mastermind in Pittsburgh. I have absolutly no doubt in my mind the Steelers win this game. By how much depends on the health of Ben. At least this will be the last weekend i have to hear about tebowmania or tebowing or anything to do with him til maybe april when the draft comes and hopefully not til august. Not that i don't like the guy, he is a Florida Gator alumni, just got tired of it all.

The line has been floating around a lot. For the vbet I stuck it at 8 1/2 because I didn't want a push when there are only 4 bets this week

Geaux Tebeaux!

I would love to see reactions with a Broncos win this week!!! There might be heads spinning around on shoulders and green puke involved!!

I don't care for either team but I've about had it with Tebowmania. I would rather be hearing Favre drama... at least he was great at his position and was generally the reason his teams were winning.

Last week against KC it seemed like all of the Denver team did what they were supposed to do except Tebow. Even though his receivers have been dropping balls left and right but that happens to some extent with every QB. Even with drops Tebow needs to be close to or at 45-50% completion rate, no turnovers, and be more aware in the pocket. I noticed it the most in the Chicago game how bad his footwork and nervousness was in the pocket but he was clutch and why I rooted for him. That is mostly what he had going for him is that he was clutch no matter how bad he was throughout most of the game. Now that his "clutch" play has been gone most of these last 3 games there is not much special about him.
I hope the defenses play well, little or no turnovers and for Tebow to have a clutch performance again and then a least it should be a good game.
It has been nice though not having the media be so Tebow crazy these last few weeks.

I guess my issue was that he was getting this "clutch" title yet the only reason he needed to be "clutch" is because he was so terrible to begin with. And really, the only reason he seemed clutch was because defenses initially didn't know what to do when he just started scrambling. He was doing nothing a good quarterback would do, he we succeeding by doing the exact opposite.

It was the fact that the media was giving him credit for being a great quarterback that drove me nuts. Yes he was "clutch" in a sense, and yes he technically put them in a position to win at the end of the game (only because their defense kept them in the game.) But should someone really get credit for being clutch when they are throwing 6-22 for 150 when the last 75 yards comes in the last 4 minutes? Shouldn't the QBs that consistently go 19-22 for 250 and are playing at a medium to high level throughout the entire game get their due credit?

that's my 2 cents, I just hope this doesn't carry over in to next season. It was fun while it lasted, now lets move on to another QB to hype over.

I hope Tebow sent the Raiders a thank you card, he sure didn't earn it.
He helped earn his teams birth to the playoffs. He beat Oakland in Oakland ,helping them score 31 points in the 2nd half, with 2 passing TD's and 118 yards rushing . I guess if they'd have stopped him then, they'd be in. ????

RC slams the door on that debate.

and now my humble opinion on Tebow and the whole Tebow phenomenon:

I can't remember the last time a player in the NFL got so much attention for playing so poorly.
From the talking heads to former players.
What is it about Tebow the former players resent so much?

I can't recall a time when one single player has been singled out for so much ridicule and the hope for failure.

just thought of another thing that kind of fits here.
Demaryius Thomas.
Goes from Georgia Tech Wing V or whatever it's called these days to virtually the same thing.
Could have been Jay Cutlers favorite deep target, but no.

Was Josh McDaniels getting ready to turn the Broncos into the Yellow Jackets or what?

is Demaryius Thomas a monster bust or just a victim of circumstance?

This was all he needed to do to help his team earn it. This game put the broncos in the playoffs over the raiders. Seeattle earned their way into the playoffs last year then beat the Saints.

You are right though......I will keep Rodgers, but I do hope Tebow and the broncos win vs. the steelers. This young man has done nothing to deserve the hatred aimed at him.
