This trade will probably go through

We are having a similar issue in our money local league. 12 team, 4 keeper PPR. We have 4 guys generally at the top, along with some relative newbies. In this past 2 weeks the following deals were done.
Benson for 2nd
Rivers for 2nd
Orton for 2nd
An owner at 2-6 got p----- and decided to do this with his buddy that's in contention.
Got Barber, Welker, M Thomas, TGonzo, 1st, 2nd, 14th for Forte, Boldin, Gates
First veto I've seen in any of my leagues in 10 years. What's the difference in the trades? Miller's said it NUMEROUS times....you legislate collusion, NOT stupidity. The trade is bad, but unless you can prove motive, it's stupidity. Trade allowed.

Oh, to follow up on the PO'd owner. After a healthy P&M session on our league boards, he still traded Gates to him for a 1st, and Forte for a 2nd. He has 3 1sts and 3 2nd's next year, with a keeper set of Benson, Britt, Boldin, and Ocho. If he even comes/is allowed back, i'm predicting another sub .500 year.

in most leagues most of the time that ive seen even the most fair trades were vetoed out which is why i really dont understand this one... in another league a collie/mike williams Sea preseason trade was vetoed for no apparent reason... and it was ruled that a guy with no wins was dumping to his cousin on a forte Mercedes Lewis for L McCoy dustin keller. i personally didnt see any glaring problems with either of these. However in this league where everything seems to fly there was a Matt Ryan for Santana moss between roommates which i thought was a little fishy but didnt raise a stink about... hell the dude that dumped ryan lost romo like a week or two later so i was very satisfied haha... but its now basically been admitted to me AND the commissioner by both parties that the trade is a dump to help his brother's team... which i knew all along... anyway like i said its probably going through and im pretty unhappy about it but whatever... if i have a bad year in the future im dumping like crazy in that league **** em - even though theres been at least two different years when i had no chance and coulda dumped AP easily but felt i would be unfairly disrupting the top of the league from the bottom. I guess nuts to that from now on i have a license to be as much a dick as i want in the future... thanks for that at least - and if nothing else i stirred up some controversy no?

Gizzil sounds like you need a new league if your interested email me we'll have a spot for next year open. Some pretty good managers NO BULLS%$#

just so everything is even more clear - the dude getting steve smith had two receivers not playing, and left smith on the bench... peace im out

just so everyone knows - Tom Brady is now the #1 QB in this league. Steve Smith is the 86th WR - awesome trade - and this week i pay for it as a mediocre team with tom brady is going to beat me

just sounds like sour grapes at this point LOL, just build a strong, consistent team, if it's good enough, trades like this shouldn't matter......

100% agreed! EVERY trade has a winner & loser!! Crying in hindsight makes no diff, that trade was fair then, and its fair today. (The benching or whatever is diff; I have no idea about the players in your league, but the trade itself was, is, and will always be TOTALLY fine).

I mean, I would hate to be in a league like you, if somebody wanted to trade Fitzgerald for Hillis early season, you probably would blast that guy, and then screw him out of a player. The whole point of a trade is that YOU clearly rank the person your getting higher then the other party!

If anything, that guy who traded for Brady should get a pat on the back. Going into Nov 7th week, Brady had come off 4 straight games throwing just 1 TD each. Since that guy made the trade, 7 TDs in 3 games. This is a QB who outside his record year with Moss has never had 30 or more TDs.

Please feel free to show me a forum post where anybody had Brady as the #1 QB for fantasy going forward AFTER the Moss trade. (Any scoring format)

once again - i proved collusion already - on top of which steve smith was a corpse then and continues to be now... tom brady is on onea the best teams in this years nfl and regardless of the period of time when he was the #7 QB is light years ahead of steve smith - another thing, no, i wouldnt have given two shits if someone traded fitz for hillis at any point... why would i have ever had a problem with this? I had brady as an elite QB after the moss trade - and this is not hindsight it was actually a week before the trade ever happened. again i truly hope im in a league where people are this ridiculously stupid - maybe someone will trade me Drew Brees for Ted Ginn Jr - its the same trade - if anyone can honestly say they wouldve accepted steve smith for tom brady, no matter what week it was, they are either lying or extremely stupid. theres no way around it. trades like this guarantee last place morons - so come off it theres absolutely nooo way you or anyone with the cognitive function of a goldfish wouldve ever accepted this trade - so please - if you wouldve at any point yourself accepted tedd ginn jr for drew brees, or steve smith for tom brady when theres a g on the line please - id like to know who you are, so that the rest of the sane people can join your leagues and bleed your pockets - you may want to give up on fantasy football also

The money doesn't make the league great, the owners do. Hired Guns here is free, and I put about 10 times more effort into that than my cash league, and my decisions in either have 0 to do with monetary gain, it's pride. I'm not saying the trade's balanced. It CLEARLY isn't. You haven't proven collusion because no one here knows these people LOL. The point is, trades like this shouldn't be vetoed unless it's CRYSTAL that dumping is going on. (Forte, Boldin, Gates for 2 next year picks). In any event, if you're that unhappy with how the commish runs the league, leave it. But money should never be the argument, this is a hobby, it's not a full time job LOL.

That's as much effort as I care to put into this, best of luck in the future!

as far as a consistent team i would say starting 9-0 is pretty good - however a few trade collusions changed the whole dynamic of the league, and as a result i will probably be 9-3 now and may not even get a bye... two teams that were likely not even going to make the playoffs at all, and if they did would be knocked off easily, are now serious contenders and rolling through everybody else - no amount of consistency can overcome a team getting essentially two first round picks... so im sorry you were wrong there. I drafted Drew Brees AFTER Tom Brady, and when i lost my #2 pick, Ryan Grant, i was able to plug in my #15 DMac most of the year... so beacause i drafted well, and built a consistent team, i am punished by a mediocre, short sighted and crappy team that was able to just take tom brady for free - ridiculous. Also, im pretty sure i made it CRYSTAL clear by saying that the owner giving Brady told me he gives up, doesnt start any of his players, and said he just wants to help his brother out. it was admitted that it was dumping - and even if it was not admitted (it was, soooo why are there still arguments?) i would say this is about as clear as it gets. NOBODY that has ever played ff would EVER accept this trade. I am 100% confident in that statement.
