Might as well consolidate it.

He has a lot to consider.

Gase is going to get a HC job if he accepts one.

Both Thomas's are UFAS as well as one of the stud linemen.

Does he want to potentially learn a brand new offence and be without one if not both of his best weapons?

IMO the mind and heart has one last run but the body might not make it another season. We all know hes playing on borrowed time. Just a matter of when the clock strikes midnight.

If they would have won the Superbowl he would have retired... But... they didn't... Anderson looks like the real deal. That defense is stout as can be and will only get better next year. Peyton's offense will not change much regardless of coordinator, at least, what he does at the line and his out thinking defenses. They are going to be a heavy Defensive team that can run well and control the clock. His arm got real noodly at the end of the year but there was sickness and leg injury to consider. Peyton's farewell into the sunset as a Champion a la his boss is a real possibility.

But Peyton won't ever win another Superbowl. He just doesn't have that much left in the tank. So the question becomes does he want to try again, and be disappointed again, or does the want to face facts and move on with life and not be the guy who went too long?

IMO he is hurt (leg/s). So if he heals up over the off-season why not come back for another shot. He was playing great for the first 2/3 of the season. Seemed to come back to earth after the SD game where he took that shot to the thigh.

Plus if he retires now, he'll have the rest of his life to hear how Eli won more SBs than him

Okay, but what if it is the injury that isn't keeping from winning?

I am a huge fan, but facts are facts, he has had incredible talent around him, and has only won one. Hell his brother has done better. He is older now, and the injuries minor or more will only effect him more. Time to go out and enjoy all the broadcasting jobs he wants, or come back as an OC which he would be HUGE at.

If he comes back for another season I would sit him 3-5 games during the regar season to try and keep him somewhat fresh for the playoffs.

Valid. My point was that I don't think his play has just fallen off the last month or so due to his age or declining skills. I believe it was due to a specific injury. So for those in the media saying he looks old or has nothing left in the tank, I don't think that's correct so not a reason to retire.

Not a god awful idea, if your goal is honestly to WIN a Super Bowl with an aging, pushing 40 QB. Do you honestly need Peyton Manning with the talent that team still has to beat the Jaguars and Titans of the world? Sign a journeyman QB to back him up him for a couple of the "less challenging" games on your sched. They don't pay him 16 million a year to start every single game and win by 40, they pay him to have them in the Super Bowl picture. If they are there at the end, and Peyton is healthy and able to contribute, I don't think they care about sitting him a few games to ensure that. But, with the competitor that Peyton is, I doubt that HE allows them to do that. He got a little pissy earlier this year when they benched him to start the 4th in a game they were up 40 (Oakland maybe???).

With a cap so tight, I can't see spending that much money at one position, and not utilizing it all the time
I don't think Denver can do that, unless Osweiler is really ready, and you want to get him more game time experience. But to me you are basically locking in Manning retiring next year then
