According to scout.com. Actually the two schools nearly tied but Texas did come out on top at the end of the day.

Texas signed 19 kids from the scout 300 while the Tide signed 17 from the list.

You can view the UT class of 2012 here: Scout.com: Football Recruiting

The Tide's class of 2012 can be viewed here: Scout.com: Football Recruiting

Does anyone disagree with UT coming out on top? Will it do them any good or???

To me its not the rank of the class that matters so much as what you do with it. Look at what LSU has done. Name escapes me....but I think the kids name is Albert Means. One of the better RBs on the squad and not highly rated.

The Honey Badger wasnt that highly ranked and he was a Heisman finalist.

Ryan Perriloux was highly ranked and largely blew ass.

Our 09 class was highly ranked and pathetic.

Garrett Gilbert was the best QB prospect in the country and now sucks shank at SMU.

You nailed it with your thoughts on the LSU players. Badger wasn't wanted by any SEC school, not a single one offered to him. I have no comments on Perriloux who set our QB position backwards for at least 3 years. I'm not familiar with an Albert Means on LSU's team but there was an Albert Means in the middle of a pay for play disaster that went to Alabama 6 or so years ago but was let go there and moved to Memphis.

Here's a look at the LSU depth chart at RB from 2011:

42 Sophomore Michael Ford -

11 Sophomore Spencer Ware -

4 Sophomore Alfred Blue -

27 (True) Freshman Kenny Hilliard - Nephew to former LSU and Saint's great RB Dalton Hillard. He was fun to watch late in the season.

3 (Redshirt) Freshman Jakhari Gore

Blue runs with an attitude and is surprisingly quick for a relatively big back. Here's his season recap from the LSU network:

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2011)
Played in 12 games with one start against Auburn ... Is one of three LSU running backs with more than 500 yards rushing on the season ... Has rushed for 539 yards and seven touchdowns ... Led the team in rushing in four games this season: 72 yards vs. Kentucky, 119 yards vs. Western Kentucky, 74 yards at Ole Miss and 94 yards vs. Georgia ... Holds the longest run from scrimmage this season on a 57-yard scamper at Ole Miss ... Did not play against Arkansas with an injury ... Set career highs with 119 yards rushing and two touchdowns on nine carries against Western Kentucky ... An exceptional tackler on special teams coverage units ... A big back with surprising quickness and speed in the open field.
