Tebow/Vince Young- Both Released

I guess you're just too young to remember Ryan Leaf.

JaMarcus Russell career stats (2007-2009):
Passing: 354/680 (52.1%), 4083 yards, 18 TDs, 23 INTs, 65.2 QBR
Rushing: 40/175 (4.4 ypc), 1 TD, 23 FUM

Ryan Leaf career stats(1998-2001):
Passing: 317/655 (48.4%), 3666 yards, 14 TDs, 36 INTs, 50.0 QBR
Rushing: 59/127 (2.2 ypc), 0 TD, 24 FUM

JaMarcus was #1 overall and Ryan Leaf was #2 overall (behind Peyton Manning; think the Colts made the right decision?).

Baton Rouge my friend. I watched Jamarcus lead the purple & gold to the promised land thus he was by far the biggest disappointment (bust) to me when he went to Oakland and face planted in the buffet line.

Point is, Jamurcus Russell is considered to be the biggest draft bust by most NFL experts. I know at one time Leaf was, but he's been surpassed by Russell in the minds of most analysts. Plus, as LSU fans, we are well aware of the hype surrounding Russell.

Well, looking at their career stats, I'd have to say that "most analysts" are wrong. The only leg they have to stand on is that JaMarcus was #1 overall while Leaf was #2 overall.

The point is Russell was way overhyped and never lived up to his billing. Considering Russell had the lowest qb rating of any qb since 1998, I'd say that's the biggest bust of the current era of pro football. Also, you have to consider how huge Russell's contract was. At any rate, I think I will stick with the analysis of the experts as opposed to someone on an internet forum...

ok....ill bite....please cite some sources as to the expert analysts that all cite Russell as the bigest bust of all time. a couple links should not be hard to find since you speak of it as a foregone conclusion and a fact not mearly an opinion.....

This article here speculates that Russell will supplant Leaf when the draft busts list is updated: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ell-could-go-down-as-biggest-draft-bust-ever/

Yet wyche can even call it what it is.....

"What follows is one man's opinion of the top 10 NFL draft busts"

And that is my point......it's all opinion and neither is wrong....sure axe can find as many taking the other side, cause as I am sure you realize, all these talking heads don't agree.....I mean your 2nd link I not even saying he is....just saying he might take over......

The way this debate is unfolding, I'm getting the impression that there is some sort of honor in having the Biggest Bust Of All Time come from your home state.

One would think that Mud and Roman would be quick to pin that label on ANYONE besides their hometown hero.

Go get them both! ;) Hahhaahhahahaa.

I do feel bad for Tebow still although it sounds like his reluctance to not play another position is ultimately his downfall.
