Stoops would 'rather not' play Iowa

NORMAN, Okla. (AP)—Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he has no interest in playing a game against his alma mater, Iowa.

The topic came up this week as Stoops’ brother, Mike, prepares to coach Arizona in a game against the Hawkeyes.

Stoops says he’d “rather not” play against Iowa since he has so many good friends connected to the program, including head coach Kirk Ferentz. He says he has a similar feeling about playing Arizona because of the family connection and he felt the same way when his brother, Mark, was an assistant at Miami.

Stoops says the only time it would be worth such a matchup would be for a championship.

It would be nice to see the game played on the field, as both programs are historically pretty good. Might be interesting.

What he meant to say is the Iowa staff knows him too well and would find a way to help him lay another big game egg.

Doesn't matter if the team knows him or not. This guy lays more eggs than the Easter Bunny these days.
