So, Do You Consider Favre A Late Round Grab?

Favre has his name surfacing again, yeah I know, shoot me. Is he worth a late round grab in your mind? He could be out there at the begining of the season. Reports are that he didn't jump on the lawn tractor and started mowing again but has continued to work out.

I would argue it is a doable option with the mindset that you are likely going to want someone on the waiver wire after the 1st or 2nd week and he is your leading candidate to be that drop.

It would not surprise me if he came back again... ok I would be a little surprised but if you thought it was a legitimate possibility and that if he did that he would be the starter, why wouldn't you. Was that last pick of the draft your diamond in the rough that was going to explode out of the gate?

I have one team that I took over that is abysmal at the QB position. If I thought he was returning you bet I'd take the gamble. If the pick up didn't matter then I would definitely pass.

probably not unless you waited too long for a qb in your draft, but even then he'll be a long shot to help your team . . . ;)

Favre decided to "retire" because he didnt think he could go another season physically, so now he's all better and feels like another season is doable i think not.

To each his own if he's on your roster, he wont last the season without getting his 40 year old carcass smashed repeatedly to that hard surface.

I give drama boy until week 8-9 by then he will be ailing in some way or another.

BTW- My answer is NO

just got this email this morning

Hi Folks,
I didn't think this was over...
Not official yet but WCOO.com is reporting that Brett Favre will sign with the Vikings today.
Link: Source: Favre Expected To Sign With Vikings Today - wcco.com
Clipped from the story by Mark Rosen:
A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday.
Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.

We've all been on this ride before. So let's see how it plays out for certain here.
Thanks to Footballguy Christopher Parker for the headsup. Have a great rest of your Tuesday.

ER just mentioned in the chat that he signed a 1 year contract

The Vikings are weak minded, letting Favre back with the team after he said "I'm Retiring" The Vikes were played like a fine tuned piano, what a bunch of foolish mortals.

What a crock of shit of a HC Childress is, your nothing but Favre's personal hand puppet.

If this is true, my take on it is Favre just didn't want to play/workout in the preseason. He just wants to play the season. He'll probably just play 2 games all year and that will be against GB.

So do you think this move will hurt or help Minny this season ?

I could go either way on this. Does Favre actually have anything left in the tank? How will the receivers adapt to Favre just slinging the ball? And will they let Farve wear his Wrangler jeans instead of football pants? Because he's only comfortable in Wrangler.

I think we just have to decide weather Favre is better then who will be throwing the ball. Will Favre be ok with a manager type roll and allow the running game to dominate? Would u draft Favre over Sage or Jackson?

deuce may be on the right track. Minny needs a QB of Favre's caliber to take the next big step. Favre doesn't necessarily need Minny to solidify his hall credentials - just a venue for him to open it up against GB 2 times this year.

It will be interesting to see if his head is into the game or somewhere else.

This is exactly right. He has been going back and forth over the last 2 months. He's just been avoiding the 2 a days and the training camps.

Lazy ass piece of shit. Get out there and work like the rest of them. I don't care if you're a 400 year veteran, it doesn't give you the right to skip all the hard team building work. Douche. Die.

In the long run the Vikes are disabled for another year, Favre brings nothing to the table, he's only there to feed his own ego.

I suspect you will find yourself being wrong.

He may have the bottom fall out like last year in New York but he definitely upgrades the position and their chances of advancing in the postseason.

I can't believe this... what's the over/under on whether Favre puts us all through a tortured fake retirement next year, too?
