The NFL has increased their penalties for domestic violence, instituting a six-game suspension for a first-time offense and "lifetime ban" for a second.
Better late than never I guess.
Better late than never I guess.
I think this is a stupid way of going about trying to make a point. I can see this as having the potential of creating a 'Pete Rose' type situation for the NFL where some clear HOF'er is forever denied inductance because of a domestic abuse charge.
Say for instance (and I realize this is the slippery slope) someone like Andrew Luck gets a domestic charge now and then plays 12 more yrs in the league and gets another in his last year. Over the course of his 15 yr career he has performed at a level where he is clearly a first ballot HOF'er. Now he is banned for life? This just seems to lack common sense and undue rigidity. It's like the zero tolerance rule where because of the rule administrators have no choice but to suspend some honor student for bringing a nail clipper or a midol to school.
double jeopardy so NOPETurned out being just a bit more than a slap. I bet the state gets involved now also!
he was tried in court, and was given a diversion program, the state has no say chief. It would be double jeapardyThe State will have to pursue.
Its a huge issue, From some I know who have been in relationships like this, the fear is the driving factor, not money.I think some are quick to think that it's all about the money. I also think more women than you think have been in a abusive relationship.
