The Plain Dealer reported Monday that the police report states the cocked semiautomatic handgun was on safe mode with seven bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber.

Rogers has pleaded not guilty to a concealed weapons charge after authorities say he tried to carry the handgun through airport security in a carryon bag.

The 31-year-old nose tackle has apologized to his fans and his team, saying he didn't mean to take the gun into Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Rogers told police he forgot the gun was in his bag when he attempted to fly to Texas on Thursday.

rotoworldd,

Browns coach Eric Mangini thinks he will have Shaun Rogers available this season despite Rogers' legal woes.

We're not so sure. Rogers was charged with carrying a concealed weapon at an airport and spent the night in jail. He also has a history with league office, having been suspended for four games in 2006 for violating the substance abuse policy. Mangini will probably be without Rogers for at least a couple games.

LOL, interesting tangent for this thread.....Nate Washington did a signing at the Toledo Dick's Sporting Goods store last Saturday, he's a Toledo native apparently and has done these in the past.....some of his entourage showed at the end, including one Shaun Rogers.....one big big boy in person :D

rotoworld,

Browns president Mike Holmgren confirmed that he expects the NFL to hand down some kind of suspension on Shaun Rogers.

Rogers was arrested on April 1 for carrying a loaded weapon while trying to board an airplane. Rogers is attending the offseason program but isn't attending as he continues to rehab his leg/ankle. Beat writer Tony Grossi previously stated he believes Rogers will get a one or two game suspension.
