Front office guys don't pick a name out of a hat and throw money at him. I'm confident they watched tape and made some calls and feel he has what it takes to be a starter. What he ends up doing with that opportunity is the big unknown. But I think Charlie learning from Turner, Rivers and Volek makes him a less scary gamble than any QB in the draft not named Bradford.
If the 2nd rounder SD received becomes a hall of famer, then some moaning is justified, but so many picks bust every year. Just look at the first and seconders being traded away this year for second day picks (Hill, Houston, Wimbley...). I guess I'm saying I'm cool with what they. Hass is just getting older, and the free agent QBs this year are just wretched.
