Seattle Beat reports say that the Seahawks have aquired QB Tarvaris Jackson

Dave Mahler of 950 WKJR Seattle and Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times both report the Seahawks have agreed to terms with QB Tarvaris Jackson. Seattle has also said that that Hasselbeck is gone so there will probably be a camp battle between Jackson and Whitehurst. This takes Seattle out of the Kevin Kolb sweepstakes early.

I have been reading this as well. I have to hope for the sake of any Seattle fan that they are really just interested in him as backup.

As a Seahawks fan, this one has me scratchin' my head.... Am I missing something or does Tavaris Jackson suck?!?

I guess this guy was a 2nd rounder back in 06', is he a someone that just hasn't blossomed into a starter yet or is that never gonna happen? He always looked pretty sh!tty to me...

Now Jackson isnt current starter quality for sure, but he did show flashes. If anyone can get the most out of a QB, Id say its Pete Carrol. If nothing else, youve got a highly mobile QB for your offense, and that might work well for you in the division.

Which would you prefer? Whitehurst or Jackson?

I have very little confidence in either guys at this point... could be a loooooong season for the Seahawks and their fans.

Jackson did show flashes of starter quality. I really thought he would turn into something. He has the athleticism.

So much so that I've already heard/read speculation that PHI may just keep him now because with only one team in the hunt now PHI won't get what they want for him.

Reports are that Jackson's contract is the same as what Charlie got, 2yrs for 8mil. So if that sends a message I'd say there's going to be a QB competition, no one's handing Charlie the clipboard just yet.

Just heard on Mike & Mike that M.Leinart is possibly going to Seattle to be re-united with his college coach Pete Carroll.

According to ESPN the Seahawks and Leinart agree to a deal, Leinart denies it "I have not signed with Seattle"

Last night there was news that Seattle and Leinart agreed to terms. But then, after that, Seattle signed Jackson. So I thought the Leinart deal was over.
