Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch get's a 4 year deal.

The Seattle Seahawks and RB Marshawn Lynch agreed to a four-year deal for $31 million Sunday, March 4. The deal is for $17 million guaranteed. Now, the Seahawks will not have to place the franchise tag on Lynch, who was an impending free agent. Lynch came on strong for Seattle last season and will be rewarded accordingly. $31 mil buys a whole lot of Skittles.

off topic a bit but you think he could be a top ten pick in fantasy in redraft leagues next year. Probably not for me but if i had 9th, 10th or maybe even 8th pick he would be my second pick in a snake draft if my first pick was a RB also (which technically you could say would be pretty much a top ten pick if that were the scenario). I've been a fan of his since he came into the league but got a little worried until last year. I think he has what it takes to be a major star.

I'd say that Foster, Rice, MJD, and McCoy should go before him for sure. Possibly even Forte, someone could grab AP before Lynch but I wouldn't. I'd rank him no worse than the 6th RB. A couple or 3 QB's will go in the first round in most drafts and so will Megatron. Add 'em all up I'd say there's a legitimate chance that in your draft you could see Lynch come off the board in the first. On a cbs sports mock draft held after the superbowl Lynch was drafted 9th. Players going before him in order were Rodgers, Foster, Rice, Brees, McCoy, MJD, Calvin Johnson, and Forte. Finishing out the first round after Lynch were Turner, Brady, and Chris Johnson.

I think they believe in him the long run and came to a deal that was beneficial for both of them. They really can't afford to lose him imo

Show me a man who wouldn't blow his own horn if he could, and I'll show you a liar.

that being said, "Toot, Toot!"

Is it the Wx, the Skittles, or is it just that Marshawn Lynch don't take kindly to being wrestled to the ground?

Lynch will turn 27 before the season starts, and really only has three years of NFL wear-and-tear.
A franchise tag may just tick Marshawn off.
I think in his case, he is a proven commodity and a tag would just be a slap in the face.

A nice 3 or 4 year deal with juicy incentives looks like a respectful course of action for ownership at this juncture.

seems as though a tag would cost around 7 mil per and the 'Hawks are betting they'll get three for a bargain with incentives balancing out near half of the contract.
A player like Lynch, who plays with so much passion, will almost certainly try to reward those who have faith in him.
that being said, i think i pulled my groin on the second 'toot'

When you watch Marshawn run, or play, or battle, or confront his opponent, what do you see?

If Seattle had tagged him, he would get almost 8 mil.
That's just under half of what his contract guarantees.

Lynch performs when he believes.
A tag could have alter that belief.

And then he may not play as well. Not on purpose, but subconsciously.
Why not demonstrate loyalty with an extra year guaranteed?

Besides all that crap,
he's just their guy.

Lynch comes across to me as the type of player that will not take his money and run as so often happens when players get a big payday.

Now that he has his $$, watch him disappear.... I feel strongly that his performance will nose dive now.

I think this is a huge mistake by Seattle. I look for the Lynch of Buffalo to show now that he has guaranteed money, and his value will plummet. I hope I am wrong, but i bet I ain't.

Gobbling the guaranteed green and calling it a career leaves a lot of cabbage on the table.

Although that extra 'oomph' may have been all about the Benjamin's.
All that buckin' and snortin' may get replaced by after the game Courvoisier.
