Starting again with the negative this week:
Texas - Mack, again I credit you for sticking to your guns on this whole run thing.....and yet for the second week you run up crap numbers against a cupcake. Throw the f****n football some more. You can not play a game like this with Texas Tech, or your young QB will end up in a 4 TD hole at half time he cant dig you out of. A pedestrian 34-7 win over Wyoming gives me a stomach ache for this week.
Virginia Tech - This is one of those times where you just kinda shake your head and walk away. No tongue lashing is fitting for a team who has managed to crash harder than anyone this side of the New Mexico Lobos. Driving to work Saturday night I got a good little chuckle to myself thinking Virginia Tech can still win the ACC Championship and play in a BCS bowl after getting their Hokies handed to them by James Madison. What a world we live in.
Georgia Tech - Great job by the Yellow Jackets in this one, getting beat at home by freakin Kansas, who couldnt do anything but drop the soap and take it from North Dakota State last week. I dropped GT all the way out of my rankings this week, but I still firmly believe the only GT player who took the Jayhawks seriously was Josh Nesbitt. He appeared to be the only one who showed up to play Saturday. Can James Madison and North Dakota State play for the ACC title?
Florida State - Not yet straying out of the ACC, I turn my attention to Sgt Johns "What the hell happened" game of the week. I expected MUCH more out of the Seminoles than what I got. Oklahoma broke both feet off in the Seminoles warhole, and they just stood there and took it. Perhaps this was just a down week for the ACC, but it sure looks bad when 3 of your top 4 programs take humiliating losses.
LSU - Not to beat a dead horse here, but that was freakin VANDERBILT you almost got upset by. What is it going to take for Miles to light the fire under this LSU offense?
Ok..enough of the negative, now on to who impressed me:
Mississippi State - Though they lost to Auburn, Mississippi State showed alot of heart and played tough against the Tigers. That 17-14 score could have easily been the other way, and its just further proof Dan Mullin is building something special down there in Starkville.
Michigan - All be damned if they didnt find a way to win. I figured this would come down to which coach had more heart, and Kelly is superior to Rod by miles, but Robinson found a way to make it happen. Ill state the obvious, being if Robinson goes down Michigan wont win another game, but as long as he stays up right this team may win 8 games.
Ohio State - Dominating win in just about all phases. Forcing turnovers, mauling the Miami front lines, and the class move at the end by Tressel. At the moment if you told me Id see Alabama vs Ohio State at the end of the year, Id be all for it.
TCU - No one is paying you that much attention, and you just keep on doing what you do. Granted it was a cupcake, but as stated in the rankings, you went out this weekend and did your job as a top 5 team should. When people are losing to Jacksonville State, North Dakota State, and James Madison, its nice to see one of the big dogs actually take care of business.
South Carolina - Great hard fought win over Georgia. Im not sure AJ Green would have made much of a difference. South Carolina stars 2-0 for like only the second time in the Spurrier era.
