Santonio Holmes to the Jets??!!??

I wouldn't put to much stock into that claim/rumor either.

Never to early to start talking tough but still can't see that type of action against Ben if there is a void of evidence/info to support it.

I think it was legit. I think Pittsburgh is scared to death of losing its fan base. It has always been an upstanding well run team. They ditched burress...and I fully expect they would have ditched Holmes if not for the trade offer.

Now if he can get clean....he could really, really help the Jets.

The fan base will never be lost, that's totally ludicrous. The reason that we've turned on Holmes, and slightly less so on Ben is because the fan base is THAT strong. They're ridiculously loyal to the symbol on the helmet, not necessarily the players that wear it. Especially when they tarnish the symbol on the helmet.
Trust me, nobody shedded a tear when once-popular contributors such as Burress and Joey Porter hit the road, because the drama started to outweigh what they brought to the franchise.

Truer words have rarely been written. Stillers still got jobbed on this trade sans Leon Washington. But one less knucklehead on the team is a good thing.

I think it was a good move by the Rooney family. Could've/should've got a better deal for him but they really send out a message to the team that misconduct will not be tolerated. Now to see how handle Ben will be interesting. The WR corp for the Steelers is ok still. They did re-sign Randle el again and when that happened, Holmes should have realized he was a soon to be ex-steeler. And if Sweed can learn how to catch the ball again, he'll be a nice addition. Gonna be interesting to see if Pitt picks up a WR or off linesman first in the draft.
