Romo's NEW least favorite TE

Cowboys Tight End high on KitnaAt least one member of the Dallas Cowboys hopes three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo has to earn the right to retain his starting job. "I loved playing with Kitna," tight end Martellus Bennett said Tuesday. "Kitna is one of my favorite people to play with. He made some things happen in limited time, so I think if he got a longer chance, he'd be able to do more. "I hope there's a chance for a quarterback competition this year. Every position, I think we need to put more competition into it." However, Dallas' decision-makers have no plans for a quarterback competition. Owner/general manager Jerry Jones has made it very clear that he's committed to Romo, who has three seasons remaining on a six-year, $67.4 million contract, as the Cowboys' franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. This might come back to haunt Martellus. :p

T.Romo so far is not living up to his 60+ million contract, is he really good enough to take the Cowboys to the next level ?? :hmmm:

On the Jason Smith show on ESPN radio he was saying Romo may need a little fire under his ass in the form of some QB competition to see if he really is all that.

Was thinking the same thing. But not being a fan don't know if its him or the team. Hasnt he spent a lot of time recently on IR?

Only seen him a handful of times play, and wasnt really impressed. Is he really the type of QB that will take a team to the next level? And that sure is alot of money they have in him. Another reason these teams need to set up a base pay scale with performance bonuses. No play, no pay.

He is just trying to get traded somewhere that offers more playing time.

I agree here. Bennett was in the dog house big time last year, and at one point was moved down to the #3 Te. He is just pushing buttons to hasten his drop, so he can get another shot somewhere else.

 I am not a Romo Fan, except when they play the Eagles, and the Eagles make him cry :biglaugh:

But on a serious side, he has some skills, but I am not impressed at all, especially in pressure must win games. I don't think your owner shows that much love to Newton, if he was THAT sold on his current Qb.
