What could he have done better as a first year starter, in the situation he was thrust into, without any running game to speak of, to kick off the season last year. I am a Packer fan and definitly biased, but i felt that Jennings and Rodgers WERE the silver lining to a sad season.

I went White here.

Why?

First, i too am not a Colston believer. Until he can put a whole season together...I am not buying.
Second, I love Jennings...but I think as Jones and Nelson continue to develop, and Driver gets replaced....Jennings won't be the deep target anymore.

lastly I think the acquisition of Gonzales at TE frees White up for more deep passes. The defense will have to respect Gonzales and what he brings...and will allow White to break free more. Plus White has improved each year.

Colston (knee) fully participated in the final minicamp practice on Sunday, reports The Times-Picayune. Colston made some excellent catches in practice, including a one handed grab, displaying his great hands and athleticism.

You are biased :)

I look at Rodgers I see more of a Jason Campbell type. Serviceable but not spectacular.

I also look at the defenses they will face 6 times a year. The defenses Rodgers will see vs the defenses Brees will see are night and day to me.

1. Rodgers is far and above Campbells talent level. Also, Rodgers has a real weapon in the passing game in Jennings.

2. Comparing a QB who has only played 1 full season to an all-star like Brees is a little unfair. Also, the price you'll have to pay for a guy like Brees is a full 2 rounds ahead of Rodgers. If it was a simple question of who would you rather have the answer is clearly Brees.

3. Rodgers averaged 240 yards and 2 TDs against divisional opponents in his 1st year. He also gained 55 yards and a TD on the ground while only thowing 1 INT. Granted, he did smash Detroit twice, but that's part of the division and you'll be getting those points.

What?? Rodgers and Campbell comparison? Gotta disagree there dude. Not even close. Rodgers is lightyears above Campbell, IMO. Not to take anything away from Jason, but Aaron is simply better.

For me:
Colston is s stud, Jennings is very good, White is clear third in this race.
While Gonzo might free up some coverage deep, he will take redzone looks as well. In the end, White might just equal out with getting 2 extra 30 yarders but getting 2 fewer inside of the 20 because Gonzo took those.

Just a thought: If you changed A.Rogers playbook every year, he might look as bad as Campbell, but I'd take Rogers and a lot of other guys over Campbell at this time.
