News: The Ravens signed WR Donte' Stallworth to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Stallworth was released by the Browns earlier this offseason after being suspended for all of the 2009 campaign for being convicted of vehicular manslaughter. He was recently reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "We've given a lot of thought to this and we've done extensive research into Donte' beyond football," Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome told the official team Web site. "He made a huge mistake. There's no doubt about that. ... As (owner) Steve (Bisciotti) has said, we believe in second chances, and Donte' does deserve that. But, we've signed him because we want to get better, and we think he has a chance to help us."
Analysis: The move adds depth to the Ravens' receiving corps, but don't expect Stallworth to dominate. After all, the 29-year-old receiver with a history of nagging hamstring injuries has never posted a 1,000-yard season, has had more than five touchdowns twice and has only played 16 regular-season games three times in seven seasons. Consider Stallworth a candidate for 600 yards and five touchdowns, making him no better than a low-end reserve who you might be able to pluck off waivers during the season.
