Rams seeking Michael Vick?

From rotoworld,
Beat writer Jim Thomas expects the Rams' brass to discuss the possibility of signing or trading for Michael Vick in next week's organizational meetings.

GM Billy Devaney worked with Vick in Atlanta and even visited him in prison. Coach Steve Spagnuolo and OC Pat Shurmur are tight with Eagles coach Andy Reid, who has spoken in glowing terms about the "changes" Vick has made in his life. The Rams desperately need a QB, and Vick would be a good fit in the Edward Jones Dome. Using a late round pick to reel in a QB would allow the Rams to select Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh with the No. 1 pick. Jan. 15 - 8:50 am et

They need a QB that can run for his life so he just might fit here.:runaround:

Sounds like the Rams never want to become a quality team if thinking M.Vick will help them
I disagree, I think this is a great move for that organization. It gives them a special talent they can put at QB that can create things on his own. This will also free up running lanes for SJax and allow them to concentrate on other positions of need like their O & D lines.

This move alone will not fix this team, but it is a huge step in the right direction. Vick may not be a great passer, but I do remember him leading some quality Falcon teams to a playoff victory or two.

Having M.Vick at QB will be like putting a band-aid on a cut that needs 20 stitches

What a boon it would be for Philly!

They got the guy for next to nothing and now stand to get a (some) quality players for him.

Surely Philly doesn't plan on keeping him in their future plans.

Agree with above. If the rams have so many holes to fill, why not bring in an exciting player that has had some success and would allow them to focus on filling other holes over the next couple of years.

Without him, they would need to burn a high pick on a qb of the future that may or may not work out and pass on another foundation player at another position. With the right coaching and scheme, Vick could be a great option that will infuse some excitement back into the most boring team in the league.

A lot of mock drafts show the Rams taking Clausen with pick #1. Would this trade seal N. Suh's fate in St. Louis?

Its possible.

I think this is a great move for the Rams. Vick will play his arse off for them, bring some excitement and a dynamic that offense is missing, and it means the QB they draft wont be executed before he gets a chance to learn the game.

All I can say is PLEASE....PLEASE St. Louis take him. Give us a later round pick...and have at him.

I agree somewhat with a few here that a mobile Qb may be the best thing until that o-line gets fixed. I also agree though that they will never win much with him as a starting QB.

Hes been a sucessful starter before. Hes had a year now to eat right, work out, and get back in the groove.

Id say with a solid offseason program hed be ready.

ummm, don't they have to pick up the 5 mil option on him if they want to keep him? If you are the Rams, why trade anything for him? Philly is not paying him 5 mil, let them pass on the option and release him, then sign him.

No, Philly won't let him walk. Not with all the other Qb issues. They have the room, they will hang onto him one more year. In fact they have already stated as such I believe.

5 million is a lot to pay him for doing a whole lot of nothing, i see the Eagles going the release-resign route if going to keep him
