I am happy for bengals fans, which I am not one of...... Still this is a huge steal for theBengals, and a huge panic move by the Raiders. However, I heard this isn't done yet? Has it been confirmed?

Palmer still has to pass a pap smear....

Will you two stop. Bengals will NOT trade Carson this year. Period. Its a dead issue.

Wonder if they will get Garrard to fill in. God help them if they have to rely on Boller :puke:

Is Garrards name floating out there

David Garrard, Kyle Orton & Josh McCown are names on the rumor mill

Garrard is having surgery Wednesday.. count him out

According to Garrard himself, The Raiders were interested in bringing him in. Then he went off and said he was having a herniated disk surgery and looking to play in a month afterwards. At best case scenario thats about a month of football left. Don't see anybody even considering touching him this season. Now maybe as a long shot, some teams might let him try for a spot next year if he passes his physical. IMO, i think his days are numbered.

And i don't think the Raiders were ever seriously considering McCown. He sucks. He's 2-7 as a career starter and has always been a backup since day one and always will be. Should be 3rd string backup i think.

Okay the appocolypse may be coming. I don't believe this for one friggen minute...but Jay Glazer is reporting that the Raiders and Bengals are close on a deal for Carson Palmer. Supposedly offering a first and a conditional pick. I just don't believe it...but who knows....... :dunno:

Believe it. Done deal. And in typical Raider fashion they WAAAAYYY overpaid; 2012 1st and conditional 2013 1st. :wow:

I thought the days of the Raiders bending over and grabbing their ankles would have ended with Al's passing.

Great deal for the bengals!

If it's true, its a great move for Cincy and really as good as the Raiders look this season, hell why not bring in a proven QB and try to keep this season going. Paid alot for him but it just might pay off in the long run. And screw the draft, FA is alot cheaper and you get experience now.

Palmer's deal this year is for 2.5 million and then 12.5/13/15 for the remaining three years--with 7.5 guaranteed next year.

Yeah, he's been introduced in Oakland, this is a done deal.

OK, my reaction:
As one who would have had no issue with Palmer rotting in NFL retirement......I always prefeaced that with unless they could get decent value out of him. I had no interest in seeing the Benglas give into the crybaby for a 3rd or 4th round draft pick.....enter the Oakland Raiders!! A first and 2nd......REALLY???? And the 2nd could become a first if they win a playoff game....ok, well hell it's still another 2nd!! I could not be more thrilled. This is a young team that looks to be set up with a good foundation. Now add 2 1's next year and 2 2's in 2013 and they have a chance to start to stock pile some serious talent. Good day to be a Bengals fan!!!

From the Oakland stand point.....hmmmm.....over paying again.....BUT.....Carsons does have some talent. If he can get his mechanics worked out, he may be ripe for a resurection.....but the history of vet QB's who were dealt for a 1st round pick is pretty horrid.....with his injury history I think this could end badly for them......or maybe it's just wishful thinking......

I can't help but like this deal for Oakland even if it came at a price. There was a day when Palmer was a real gunslinger. There was a day when Oakland killed you with the bomb.

Oakland's illustrious history is made up of "last chance" QB's. Stabler rode pine for 4 years behind Lamonica then battled injuries before winning the AFC player of the year in '74 and '76. Plunkett was all but washed up when he was brought to Oakland as a back-up to Dan Pastorini. It wasn't until he was 33 years old that he led the Raiders to the play-offs and a year later, The Super Bowl.

Then there is Blanda....but we won't go there.

Once he gets a full understanding of the system the WRs value will skyrocket. He has the ability to make sub par recievers into stars. As in people like Chad Ocho johnson cinco nueve gringo tortilla.

As long as Palmer dont pull a Randy Moss and crap all over the field.

Over paying for a player is the Raider way of late, resurrecting a players career is the way the Raider's roll.

Welcome to the Raiders Carson, every player looks better wearing Silver & Black

My gut says he is starting after the bye week. It will be Boller this week, which is fine since they should be able to run all day vs. KC

One day...people will stop doubting the news i report. Bahahahahahahha
:headscratch: Once in a while, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Oh, and Eagles were willing to deal Young to Oakland, but they prefered Palmer, even at this price. So, so much of Young as the main back up in Philly eh?

Am i the only one that thinks that phrase there sounds like a porn movie title?

Young who? Not talking Vince Young are you? Oakland did the right thing by staying away from that vegtable.

Yes..he is the back up..and yes..they were going to use him as a fall back option. I don't understand what the point is if you are trying to say that no team would trade there main back up QB.

Okay, then I will explain it, in small words to help you out. NO team trades their back up Qb, with an already injured starting Qb in mid-season. Its just a bit stupid don't you think? Really?
