PLEASE HELP with keeper league picks

I have to pick 5 players for my keeper league and I keep switching who I want to keep each day. Please tell me your thoughts. Thanks!

Michael Vick ? I think you have to decide between Vick and Romo. I'm not a Vick fan even after he wore his Superman cape last season but there's down side to Romo as well.

Chris Johnson You've gotta keep the young man but when he gets his raise I'm scared he'll be tempted to coast as so many NFL players do after they strike it rich.

LeSean McCoy- I keep McCoy and snicker at my opponents.

Darren McFadden- No way I'd hang on to Mr. Injury with the guys you have to pick from. Scratch McHurt!

Larry Fitzgerald- He's a keeper in anyone's book.

Vincent Jackson- Keeper all day long.

Dez Bryant- Lots of promise but I doubt he'll ever grow up. I'd cut the head case with VJ and Fitz in my lineup.

Tony Romo- See remarks about Vick.

Thanks man! Appreciate the input. Is it better to stockpile on rb or to take 2 wr. My thoughts originally were Vick, McCoy, DMC, CJ2K, and Fitzgerald (Especially if Johnson holds out). If I go with your idea, who do you take first in the draft, rb or wr? Thanks again!

Hey Bj,

You could make this a lot easier on all of us if you included some info about your league. How many teams, what positions you start, is it PPR, do your kepers cost anything to keep, etc, etc, etc.

It's tough to just look at names and give sound advice.

It's a 12 team standard league. Your 5 keepers cost you nothing. We start with a non-snake draft once all 12 teams have selected their 5 keepers. I unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) pick 11 out of 12 (came in second last season). Don't know who the other keepers are until everything is locked on August 30. Draft is August 31.

I don't think I'd keep a QB at all.

You have 3 Rbs that are all 1st and 2nd round value and Fitz and Vjax are 2nd or 3rd round. I know you would hate to let go of Vick but you are batting 11th and he will be easier to replace from a depleted pool than your top tier RBs and WRs.

By "non-snake" I assume you have the 11th pick in every round so your chances of drafting any real quality players are pretty much limited to your first round pick.

Thanks cctekguy. Never really thought of doing it that way. Gives me something to consider. Hate to give up Vick but maybe that is the plan and getting the best available QB left at pick 11. Hopefully, everybody else takes WR & RB with their first pick. I have Romo and Stafford on my roster as well. That's 3 quality QBS that I will be dropping. Maybe one will fall to me at 11.

Now that is interesting....... Most teams in a 5 keeper league keeps a QB. You can look at those rosters and pretty much guess if they will or not. If they got a good one they will probably keep them. If there are too many teams that don't have a "keeper" quality QB then you might not want to drop Vick. On the flip side of that coin if there are a lot of teams that also have two good QBs then they will probably only keep one and that is an extra good QB in the draft pile for you to try and snag with your 11 pick. The only teams really looking for a QB in the first round will be teams with no good QBs. and you if you drop Vick. Hang around and come back as this thread will probably generate many responses in the next couple of days.
